Fist of the North star KOEI coming videogame !!

Post by iceman57 »

Here is the trailer, you're already crying... :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imki9F81bus (press conference screener).

Then you may ask "would this be again a crappy pashinko videogame ?"...
No this is a beat'em all !! Based on Dynasty Warriors engine and planned to be release in 2010 for X360 & PS3.

Here are gameplay first images :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIkaOhkizCw (only 20 seconds from official sources)

And the best for the end, rumors about a possible US release.
Added in wishlist :D

Exciting to see, thanks for the links!
I'm sure it'll never have release outside of Japan, it's too specialised because the mass games-playing public have no idea who Kenshiro is *booooo*
I did like that FMV intro sequence, especially as the punks race towards Ken and he knocks them away! I wonder if you look closely you can see Zeed or Spade ^__^
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Spade not announced, but Zeed's in.
They preserved the manga guideline so there are several shortcuts compare to the anime. You jump from Zeed to Heart, then to Shin.

As I'm in charge of native french fan board PR, I had some talks with KOEI UK head (UK are company European HQ)... So... they can't announce anything yet about EU / US release but this will normally come soon. Then they wished the board a "Merry Xmas" as signature.

I interpret this as "yes this time this will be for the rest of the world but no date yet".

I'm frequently in connection with them for fresh meat news.
Last information is that on March 24, the title theme by Nana Tanimura will be announced to press ;)

If the European release has english menus and subs for this game, I would wait for that release instead of importing the Japanese one.

I asked a similar question in my last press conf' with the manga/DVD licence owner in France, no replies yet. Tehy are in touch with KOEI so this offers three options :
- A EU treasure box.
- A subbed game.
- A dubbed game (but fans will ask more for a subbed JP).

A recent interview from KOEI japan confirmed two important details :
- More blood & flesh (so I may suppose a PEGI +18 rating).
- A Localisation, and as there are several markets in Europe they will certainly be (by order of importance) Italian, French and Spanish language + English for global users.

Game not yet announced for the US, that is really surprising in vg industry to have a EU release before a US one, but the popularity from FOTNS in the US is quite low compare to other TV series (even the HOM team made a brilliant work for years).

Fan testers confirmed a two player mode to be unlocked after some hours of game. Additionnaly KOEI reported downloadable extra contents & alternative scenarios.

Will report here the latest collected news 8)

Some HokutoShinken hackers extracted savegame data, and here is the Eastern gift : The game already contains several language localisation slots apparently usable for country releases :D :D

English slot : usable for UK, USA
Japanese slot : usable for Japan
German slot : usable for Germany, Switzerland, Austria
French slot : usable for France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland
Spanish slot : usable for Spain, Mexico
Italian slot : usable for Italia
Korean slot : usable for South Korea, China, Taiwan
Chinese slot : usable for Continental China
Protuguese slot : usable for Portugal, Brazil

imo, english + spanish + portuguese, sounds to be an north and south america release :D
