Alright, we're into the final week before the submission period begins, which is November 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Hope everyone has their entries ready. If there are any questions or concerns, please post them now or shoot me a PM.
I think we're good to go!
Someone was kind enough to remind me about the time zone issue. Thank you for asking! Times are based on Central Standard Time (CST), I've updated the original post with this info.
RoboFlonne, please re-read the rules for the answers to those questions.
I honestly don't think any of these categories will receive less than 3 entries, since everyone participated in selecting them. People are welcome to prepare additional alternate entries if they feel it's necessary. Some people have already voiced interest in knowing what categories have the lowest number of entries during the submission period so they can help fill them out. I will keep that information posted in this thread, so I doubt any category will be cut from voting (I hope so, at least).
"5. Cels should be submitted "as is," with no graphically enhanced additions/subtractions or computer editing to improve/alter the image itself."
In the event that the cel is too large for the scanner to accomidate in one scan, is it acceptable to use a computer to merge scan 1 and scan 2 and then place this atop scan 1 and scan 2 of its background? No other tampering of the image will be done other than that.
I have to photograph most of my cels since there is no other option than installing a 32bit Windows os, and there is no way we're shelling out money to have another os on the computer when the 64 bit version works well. Unfortunately there are no linux drivers for it. ... So all the photographs I'm submitting are untouched except for the allowed cropping.
I think the merging of scans for a pan cel falls into the realm that animated sequences fall into. There is no way short of large scanning bed or photographing it, that a cel can be digitally imaged in just one pass.

Just want to make sure before I submit anything.
Great question. That is perfectly acceptable.
We're nearing submission time, so I hope everyone is ready.
