No comment on the two active issues; just hanging around waiting for the awards to be given out....
At least its good to see there is one sane person left in the world.

As for me, my sanity left me years ago, so I have no problem
making a comment here. I had not been involved with or even
read this thread up until today. And as always, I confirmed why
I don't participate or usually read these threads.

Mind you, I am not talking about everyone who has posted here,
however, there is certainly a huge share of you who are nothing
more than whiney babies. Gawd, are we are still in pre-school.
Hell, my 3 year olds, act more mature than some of you. :?

Rei, I think you would do a great job with awards. Oliver, everyone
thinks their own cels are better than others. Doesn't mean they
are, so get over yourself. As for you iceman - there are simply no
words to descibe what I really feel like saying here, at least none
that would be appropriate for a family style board.

That is all I had to say. Please feel free to attack me, cause
frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. :P

That was very mature too ;)
I wrote a couple of times already that I couldn't care less about getting 1, 2, 5 or 100 awards. I am only trying to debate about what the contest is about, could be about, should be about. Now you come here, misread me, insult pretty much everyone and say you don't give a damn about being attacked. That's quite an insane moderation. You are supposed to calm people down but you are actually making the situation worse. I have been on this forum for 4 years and a half and it is the first time I see a moderator act silly.

To respond to Olivier's questions about the beta awards and hopefully put an end to this part of the debate:

I can see your point about awards being about the artwork itself, but that also wouldn't be fair. There are some collectors here with endless funds to purchase such beautiful pieces while others are only able to purchase smaller items. So if we did have an awards based on such quality items then it would really segregate members in this community. Some might walk away feeling they are inferior while other just may be bitter that their pieces are never even a consideration. I myself am grateful that we vote based on category title because otherwise I feel the same people would win or place each year. Voting by catergory title gives everyone a chance to win an award and makes them a more enjoyable and competitive. With regards to the child category if every one of them was a good representation then maybe from there you can go by artistic style etc. I know that's what I end up doing and more times than not I'm voting for cels in shows that I've not even seen. You just have to find a way to be impartial and not to play favorites with a certain series or character.

So that's why the beta awards are the way they are. It's for all members of all walks of life. Everyone gets a chance to win a little something to display on their gallery. Whether the cel has a background or not, high end or not, small image or large, everyone can participate. The more participants, the more interesting it makes thing IMHO!.

time goes by quickly and being rushed at the last min isnt good.
very nice!

Quite frankly this thread has been an example of the petty and immature nature of some Beta members. I'm glad to have stayed out of the Awards this year. Will probably do the same in the following years.

:puzzled Wow, we take a day off and looks what happens :P.

We don't see the need to add fuel to the fire, so we'll just answer sensei and zerospace's question regarding the awards' ETA. We don't have any additional information at this point in time. Midnite should get us the files by the end of today. Once we receive them, we'll upload them right away. We'll keep you all updated. 8)

Rei: Your schedule looks good so far. We feel it is a bit tight at the end, but that is just our opinion. We didn't see any viewing period, and there are only 2 days between the end of the submissions and the voting period, allowing for a narrow margin of error. Participants will find it hard to resubmit in time for the voting, if they have to (based on our experience this year).

Also, there are only 2 days between the end of voting and announcing the winners. Granted, if the votes tally themselves automatically (something I believe zerospace has been able to do in the past), that changes things. :) Otherwise, you'd need at least a few more days.

:rollin If I were drinking something at the time I read that, I'd have spewed it out my nose and mouth laughing. I think this thread needs a lot more of that right about now ;).
