I think mentioning in the General Cel category would be a good idea. I honestly did not even notice there was a contest section on this forum until maybe a week ago.

BTW, has a date for submissions been decided? If so, I must have missed it somewhere . . . .

November 29 to December 5: Submit Entries

December 8 to December 12: Viewing Period

December 13 to December 19: Voting Period

Winners announced
: TBA

The main post has been updated with the official dates. :)

We chose this timeline so that each step of the contest has at least one week-end, and the timeline does not include any major holidays for members' convenience.

Thanks!

Has a decision been made on allowing 6 entries per participant or leave it at 5 entries like previous awards?

Like Rei, we were in favor of upping the number to 6.

But, seeing as how few people have commented on the matter (and for the sake of consistency), we've decided to keep the number at 5.

Please note that the file size limits have been added to the submission rules. They will be the same as in the 2010 sketch awards:

Standard sketch: 600 pixels wide, 300kb in size
Horizontal pan sketch: 800 pixels wide, 300kb in size
Vertical pan sketch: 800 pixels high, 300kb in size

Animated: same pixel restrictions as above, size limit is increased to 800kb.

Thanks!

Just a nitpicky silly (and likely fairly unimportant) detail, but you probably ought to change the wording on the animated file size info, since it was increased for the sketch awards, but would be remaining the same in the cel awards ;).

We meant to imply that the file size increases from 300kb to 800kb, not that the file size increased since last year. But we can see how the wording might be confusing to some. :)

On a completely unrelated note, is anyone here willing or able to update the Dutch translation from the sketch awards so that it can be used for the cel awards?

Thanks!

The website is now up and running! :)

http://awards2010.angelic-lair.com/index.php

Submissions will be open tomorrow November 29, 2010 starting at 8 pm EST or 5 pm PST. Please make sure to be familiar with the website before then. If you have participated in the sketch awards, you'll notice the process is nearly identical.

Thanks! :)

How long does it take to get submissions approved? I'm curious as to how many submission have been received.

Usually just a day or two. ^__^

We should be finished reviewing all of the submissions received up to this point by the end of the day.
