2013 Cel Contest: WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Nothing significant to say here, just bumping this thread to remind people to enter the contest!

A reminder: three more days left to enter the 2013 Cel Contest. We've seen pretty light participation, with 92 entries so far, so there are plenty of categories where your favorite cel, hanken, or rilezu would be competitive! Also special categories for backgrounds, fan art, harmony cels, and settei/model cels.

Deadline is midnight Sunday night (CST), or 06:00 AM Monday UTC/GMT.

sensei -- do you want to post the list of categories with low entry counts?

I do, but at the moment the entry levels are still modest enough that nearly all the categories could use more contestants. It would be quicker and easier to list the ones that already have healthy numbers:

ACCESSORY
ACTION
CREATURE
MALE
OUTFIT

Just about every other category could use more entries to make the competition more intense. And even in the categories above, if you think you've got a winner, then go ahead and enter it! It's still very much an open contest all around.

Well, there are a few categories that currently have no entries (the stats page, sensei, does not list categories that have nothing).

I wondered what had happened to ROBOT! Anyhow, I have an afternoon errand to run, so if you'd like to post a list of categories that could use some entries, I have no objection.

I had planned to sit this one out, but if there is a need to fill out a Hentai category I'm willing to contribute one, for the sake of seeing that a more worthy contestant gets the trophy he or she deserves. Also a robot and potentially a villain.

I only have 4 cels unfortunately, I can't make the 6 cel/category requirement.

Why was that requirement added anyway?

2.) While a participant may choose to enter 12 pieces of artwork, you are not required to submit twelve items. You may enter fewer items.

We have had a contestant enter just one cel and call it good. The only requirement is that if you enter (even one cel), then you must vote in all standard categories. But you can enter as few or as many (up to six standard plus six optional categories) as you wish.

Ohhh... I plan to enter "robot", as always, sensei. Mecha is my thing, after all! Though, I think that's no secret around here .

My hubby usually enters robot as well, and I think he's going to this year. Which reminds me... I need to dig up scan files for him. Ahhh... to be the organized one in the house...

Ah, I got confused. Since 6 categories were labeled "Optional" I assumed the other six were non-optional and required for entry. Just submitted three of my cels!

Entries have begun to pick up, I'm glad to see, but the following categories are still going begging (zero, one, or two entries) and so are in danger of being eliminated:

OPTIONAL categories

Worst

Categories with fewer than two entries will be eliminated at the end of the entry period, and contestants who submitted to them will be given a chance to replace their entries with an equal number in the more popular categories.

Categories with fewer than five entries will run but have a reduced number of awards given (three entries: first only; four entries: first and second only).

Heck, I'll enter in "Worst" if no one else is game. I'm always a contender in that category.
