Can we not look at the entries again after we vote? Is there a link where we can still see them ?
I just wanted to look at all the entries again .... 8)

LOL, so with SurveyMonkey once you vote, you cannot go back to the survey. I have it so only one set of votes can be cast per computer, so there is no double voting. I will be putting together a Beta Contest Rubberslug Site to announce the winners, hence the two weeks after the contest voting is done so I have time to put together the contest site for future contest generations. ^_^

Best of luck to everyone! Let me know if there are any more issues!

Okies, so after ignoring the counts for a few days, it looks like there are some entrants that did not vote in all categories. I have either PMed or E-mailed you with the relevant categories that are mandatory. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE CONTESTANTS, DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE IN ALL CATEGORIES!

You have of course till November 30th, however, I know scatterbrained I get around the holidays! I would not want those reminders to get buried in my inbox! ^_^

So far 22 different Beta-Members have cast their vote in this years contest! For the non participants, not everyone voted in every category. I am keeping track of that as well in case you maybe just missed one feel free to PM if you would like me to check my spreadsheet I can tell you if you have missed voting in any category!

Once again if anyone has any issues feel free to reach out to me at anytime!

To date there have been 687 Votes cast in 30 categories! The excel spreadsheet is my friend! ^_^

To date 24 different Beta-Members have cast their votes in this year's contest! For those who have not entered this year's contest it is not mandatory for you to vote in every category, but if you only did a partial vote or are curious if all your votes were counted, ie you think you might have forgotten to enter your Beta ID on every vote feel free to reach out to me anytime! E-mail or PM, I will answer any questions you have and let you know which categories you might have missed!

Thanks,
JD

If there's 1 one thing I like about using surveymonkey, it's that the entries wont show if I already cast a vote in that section(it's also too bad we have to wait to see the entries again).

Sweet! I'm glad it was easy for you majinuub! I am working on the RS site, it's very time consuming, and RS as you all know has it's buggy moments and will not create thumbnails for me so I have to do them myself :P Also I am super busy right now getting ready for the holidays this accounts for the extended viewing/voting/counting period so I can get the site up to my satisfaction. Also to give AnimeObsessed enough time to create the awards for the winners.

Also there are a lot of tie breaks going on right now so I am hoping voting is going to take off in a particular direction in some categories so I don't have to make any tough calls... Although I might do a run off in certain categories... What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Re: Annual Cel Contest 2014 - Voting Period Closes 11/30

Post by Jadeduo »

Hi Everyone!

Okay this hasn't happen in a while, since voting started in the beginning. I received a vote today without an anime-beta user ID, I zapped it and the person who did it can now go in and recast their vote! I am monitoring the voting every few days and certifying all the votes so I won't be overwhelmed when we get to the end of the voting period! If ANYONE has any problems feel free to reach out to me anytime!

Some quick stats over 30 members have cast over 700 votes across 29 categories. I have been very impressed by the different members of Beta coming out of lurk mode to participate and vote in 1 or 29 categories! So awesome! I'm reposting the voting post because we keep burying it! ^_^ So here you guys go!

Quick Rules Regulations Primer and a Reminder!

1) If you submitted artwork for consideration in this contest, you must vote for all categories. The only exceptions are the optional categories (Eyes on Me, Posteriors, Novel Set-up etc.). These categories are both optional to vote in and optional to submit artwork to. However,if you submitted artwork to an optional category, you must vote in that category. I don't think this is going to be a problem for most as the one Hentai category was cut, although Posteriors did remarkably well!! ^_^

2) This is being done a little different from years past, the entries are all posted on SurveyMonkey instead of being tallied via e-mail or the special code that Beta used to use in the past because it has been officially retired from use by the creator. This will be the very first time the cel contest is being done this way, and I hope if it goes well I can just flop this system over to the Sketch Contest as well. Once the voting is over and the winners announced the RESULTS will be PUBLISHED and open to the public, if there are any questions please ask me right away via e-mail or PM I generally am pretty quick to get back unless there is an emergency.

3) FOLLOW the instructions when voting, and make sure that you put your Anime-Beta User ID (Handle) On EVERY vote you cast. If you do not I will have to toss the vote, this is just a way to keep everyone honest, and also a way for me to make sure everyone who participates votes in EVERYcategory that they are supposed to!

VOTING INSTRUCTIONS

1) Each category has it's own link... click on the link to view the entries. There are a few categories with two pages because there are more than 9 pieces submitted to the category. Please make sure with those that you view both pages before voting.

2) After viewing the entries decide which one you like, and put a check next to it!

3) After checking, pop your Anime-Beta User ID into the empty field where requested

4) Click Done! Repeat until you have voted in all categories that you are required to vote in!

It should be very easy! Again please let me know if you have any problems right away!

No votes since Sunday!!! :bawl

Just some stats for you guys, there are actually 30 categories... Counting is hard! ^_^;; Thank god I have excel and SurveyMonkey! ^_^;;

There have 895 votes cast, by 33 individual Beta Members! I'm not sure how that turnout compares to past years but would be interested to find out! ^_^

Keep in mind for those who have not entered the contest as a participant you can still vote in the awards! No one is allowed to complain about results unless they have voted!

All participants have voted except for one! And there a couple of participants that I sent PMs to that have still not gone back and voted in the categories they missed, if that is not done by this weekend I will be sending e-mails! ^_^

REMEMBER, voting officially ends on 11/30 the Sunday after Thanksgiving, try not to leave it last minute everyone!

Thanks Again!

From the contests that I have hosted & have access to the log info:

Cel awards 2008: 90 unique voters, each voted in all main categories, 3 optional categories
Sketch awards 2009: 69 unique voters, each voted in all main categories, 3 optional categories
Sketch awards 2010: 49 unique voters, each voted in all main categories, 5 optional categories

I do not have the cel awards for 2009 or 2010 -- the two were split up, with the sketch awards being generally less popular in those years. All voters were required to be Beta members.

Note: participation & interest overall in the contest has been on the decline since '07 & '08. I think '08 might have statistically been better than '07, but I'm not positive on that. Activity on Beta as a whole has been in the decline since then as well, with fewer members logging on each day, as noted by the forum statistics at the time (not sure what stats were preserved after the board moved a couple of times and other technical issues).

Very interesting! Zerospace! Yes activity has been on the decline, but this event is an attempt to juice it up! So community, my fellow Cel Enthusiasts, it's time to rally and get some noise going again! Let's shoot for breaking 50 VOTERS!

That means to hit 51 we only need 18 more Beta Members to go and vote! If the interest can keep up, since we haven't had any volunteers... I will be willing to run the sketch awards as well however they will have to be pushed into next year as there is no way I can run both concurrently and still have a life in fact, I haven't updated or touched my gallery since the event started and I have a stack of new lovelies that need to go up!

So everyone, PLEASE make your opinion known there are some categories that have 4 or 5 way ties right now and we could use some tie breaking votes!

Thanks,
Jadeduo

Don't fret as there's always a few people who do some last minute voting.

Remember no one is allowed to complain about the results if they don't vote! So get out there and make your voice heard! All participants have voted! So who else will come out of hibernation to vote??

Please do!

If not to late.
Just delete all the Surveymonkey cookies in your browser cache and you can watch all the entries again.

@JD
We had 47 voters at the 2011 AB Sketch awards in case you like to know. ;)
