2011 Anime Beta Sketch Awards Rules & Info

Congrats to all the winners! I'm happy to win something, thanks to all who voted.

A BIG thank you to the organisers for their great work! They took the initiative and their own time to make this happen. And it's not an easy job because you can't please everyone.

The cheating case aside, this year's awards is one of the smoothest and most timely awards I've encountered. I mean the results came out really fast. Kudos to that!

My first time participating in the sketch awards, totally loved it!
So I'd like to say thanks to the coordinators and to the people who voted.
I have a quick question though, are the trophies ready for download? Or is Iceman still working on them?

I'm working on, model were ready for weeks, just requires to implement position numbers and categories on them.
A matter of hours/days depending on weekend availability.

Bypassing the conflict, I just wanted to say this was also my first sketch contest and it was one of the most smooth and fun online contests I've ever had the pleasure of entering. The entries were downright amazing, and I just want to give thanks to the coordinators and participants for making this such a fun experience! I also want to give a huge thanks to those who voted for my entries. I was stunned to see some of mine get placed, so I'm really appreciative of that fact. So thanks again guys for making this a really great experience. =) This community makes collecting production art so much more fun! ^_^

Wow work has been crazy. I totally lost track of this thread and can't believe how it grew. I wanted to congratulate all the winners and also thank those involved in "whatever happened" for keeping it to PMs and off the board (for the most part) . It certainly made the mods' lives easier. Overall I think it was a success and I look forward to future awards. Thanks to all the organizers as well. I know it's not easy working together across the globe to get this organized, but y'all pulled it off!

Thanks to all who helped make the annual sketch contest a success! It's a big job, and even if there are no tangible stakes involves, the fact that it does mediate social status in this community means that it is fraught with risks for all those involved in making it possible. I'm hopeful that the discussion of the role these contests play in maintaining the stability of the Anime-Beta virtual community will eventually see light, even though it had to be axed from the version of the essay that went in to the press.

I had to get on the road before the winners' list was announced, and was very surprised to see that most of my submissions placed at some level. (I'm especially happy at the second I took for "Worst." It would have been embarrassing to get a first, but equally saddening not to place at all.) And, as others have noted, it really was an embarrassment of riches, especially from the collections of our newer members.

So thanks to all who supported my submissions, and thanks to everyone else who submitted eyeworthy competition!

Is anyone else having trouble seeing the trophies or is it just me?

At first, me too: then I remembered how it worked last year. Visit one of the sketches that won an award and click on it. At the bottom of that page, there's a link that lets you download all of your trophies together in a zip file. Saves some time visiting around and saving each one individually.

Thanks for all the individualized work on these, iceman. And I like the appropriately "European" look of the trophies.

Thanks, sensei. I was able to download my trophies after I followed your info; however, I still don't see them on the website.

Also, I do want to thank all who supported my entries and congratulate all the winning members! I would hate to see the conflict during this contest affect future ones.
