Yahoo Japan slowness?

Post by Keropi »

Has anyone noticed Yahoo Japan running slower than normal the past couple weeks or more?

Sometimes I feel like I have a dial-up connection when I've checked there the past few days.

Or is YJ running fine for you guys?

Hi Keropi. It seems to be fine for me but I use Rinkya's search system. I did try looking at YJ the other night without Rinkya's help and it seemed to be a little slower. :?

Hi!

Well I use Rinkya's system to search YJ like Sugarflower and I haven't noticed a difference...

... having said that, I only have dial-up anyway, so it could be slow and I wouldn't notice. But no, I haven't noticed a difference.
I'm ready

Certain times of the day have seemed slower as of late. If I was keeping track maybe I'd notice more of a trend.

There was damage to some under sea fiber lines a month or so back I recall. might be affecting capacity, not sure

I think that's what I'll do. I'll check YJ at different times to see when its faster.

Yahoo Japan seems faster right now (2:30 PM PST), but normally I do my YJ checking between 5PM PST to 12AM PST. Last night I was checking around 10PM PST and it was really dragging. Other websites don't slow down for me as YJ does so I assumed the slowness was due to YJ.

I'd prefer to check later in the night because sometimes I stumble across an auction that was added relatively late California time and the auction ends the following morning Calfornia time. But if YJ is a lot faster at another time I might have to check then instead.

Generally, I'd say the premium time would be to check between 1 PM to 6 PM (EST time, subtract 3 hours if you live on the west coast). The reason for this is since Japan is 14 hours ahead the best time to check would be in there morning/late at night. So 1 PM = 3 AM and 6 PM = 8 AM (there time).

I've noticed last night and tonight I'm having alot of problems with YJ taking FOREVER to load for me. Even when I use my deputy to view YJ its still the same slowness. It's so annoying and frustrating that I find myself just closing my browser and forgetting about doing my nightly cel searches. :l

I was having more problems tonight than usual. I don't know how many times it came down to exactly TWO thumbnails that wouldn't load for the longest time. Often those two thumbnails never loaded at all. Even when I clicked the thumbnails for the larger auction pics, those pics wouldn't load.

They are definitely having some kind of image issue there.

When I'm signed into my personal YJ account, some pages load incredibly slow--usually, they don't load at all. When I'm searching through Rinkya or without being signed in, these pages load just fine. :?

This has been going on for a couple of nights for me.

This makes day 3 and I'm still having lots of problems with half the auction thumbnails not loading for me. I hope this issue gets resolved someday soon. :l

All day yesterday and this morning I was running into that problem. YJ has been very slow and some of the pictures would load as red x's. I'm on a cable internet connection and my router was running at its normal speed, and other webpages opened up fine, so I know it was YJ. Sugarflower, I have the same thing happening to me and it is frustrating. Hopefully it's not a long term problem. :x

I can't even sign in today. I can surf using Rinkya, but if I want to bid I can't. This is beyond frustrating.
