The "jp" at the end of names

Post by Keropi »

What do the "jp" at the end of YJ seller's names signify?

Are they telling buyers that they're based in Japan so have less worries purchasing from them? ?^_^?

I don't think so. My personal and my deputy ids both end with JP. Both accounts are billed to US addys, but both accounts have .jp emails. Does that make sense? Cause i think I just confused myself :)

I've always thought it was a variant on a pre-existing name used by someone else. For example, if a character was popular, there could be a Ichigo and an Ichigo_JP, along with Ichigo_01, Ichigo2009, etc.

With so many users of YJ, there are going to be multiple versions of the same word, especially if that word is a food, anime or cartoon character.

Well that makes sense I guess.

There are so many YJ names with "JP" at the end of them. I just found it rather odd. :wow:
