Anyone ready to bid on a set of cels showing the backside of a naked kid running away as fast as possible?
The worst part of this is that I know exactly where this cel appears, series, episode, cut.
Sorry ... gotta quit ... the Murder One guy wants to use the prison block computer now.

From Mandarake, a smile-provoking cel of Superman reading the instruction manual for his new Lightsaber.
Heh. Y'think Darth Vader would have lasted as long as he did if the Man of Steel had ever figured out those Engrish directions?

Also up on Mandarake now, this terrific and absolutely authentic original animation sketch by Miyazaki! Clearly worth gazillions and gazillions of yen someday.ATTENTION: While dismantling parking, please not to touch the lightsabre in order to prevent mow the wound finger.
Because this product is to takes the blade product, forbid the novice to use alone. Only have to guide in the expert exactitude the bottom can just use. [I.e., let Wonder Woman show you how to use it, Clark.]
Under the heavy circumstance in battle please avoid usage, the in order to prevent causes the product transforms.
Re: Wacky YJ Auction Items
I have no doubt it will, seeing that his last random drawing sold for ¥250,100. I'm sure he drew that in under 10 minutes when he was bored.sensei wrote: Also up on Mandarake now, this terrific and absolutely authentic original animation sketch by Miyazaki! Mouarf! Nice examples guys
Honestly, any toilet poo from this filmmaker is slowly turning to be goldbars on Mandarake. In my opinion sounds a bit like a speculative bubble on the name itself more than on the artistic content (and attached resale potential).

That actually is pretty good looking Yupa, nothing compared to what sensei posted. It instantly reminded me of Pippi that sensei had updated with, but with the crazy prices they fetch I wouldn’t be surprised if it did go for a gazillion yenYupa wrote:I have no doubt it will, seeing that his last random drawing sold for ¥250,100. Re: Wacky YJ Auction Items
Yes, it's not nearly as bad as the first drawing, but still I wouldn't say it's worth the ¥250,100.
I think his artwork is amazing - his manga of Nausicaä is probably the best manga I've read, but I don't think the examples above qualify for a high bid, even if it's drawn by him.
If I had the money I would've paid anything to get this latest sketch of San from Mononoke Hime though...

Re: Wacky YJ Auction Items
It is true that there are seven other Miyazaki drawings in the same lot: but in truth the pig-tailed girl playing field hockey was much nicer than any of the ones up FA now. I don't think it is Pippi -- she had bigger pigtails and a huge overbite, and did everything in larger-than-life mode. But the artist might have been reflecting back to Panda Kopanda or trying out ideas for some new project.
One notes that some enterprising bidder has already plunked down the opening bid of 8000 yen -- quite the bargain for Miyazaki layouts. But, yes, that Mononoke Hime layout has the whole bunch beat. That would be worth having.
Anyone wonder how Yoda and Superman would have hit it off?
You not can on physical strength alone depend.
Aw, man, I just wanna use my x-ray vision to detect the Death Star's reactor and then zap it with my heat vision.
Using powers you opponent no access can have dishonorable will be.
Uhhh ... can you at least tell me what these directions are telling me to do with the Light Saber?
Lessee. From parking remove. Your mind center. The glowing part from your thumb absent.

Looks like Superman having to replace a neon bar in the JLA command center and reading the pluging notice.sensei wrote:Anyone wonder how Yoda and Superman would have hit it off?
