I think his artwork is amazing - his manga of Nausicaä is probably the best manga I've read, but I don't think the examples above qualify for a high bid, even if it's drawn by him.
Worth is in the eye of the bidder :P Even if we don’t feel it’s worth it they seem to..

:drool I would too

I don't think it is Pippi -- she had bigger pigtails and a huge overbite, and did everything in larger-than-life mode. But the artist might have been reflecting back to Panda Kopanda or trying out ideas for some new project.
I didn’t think it was her either but those pigtails instantly made me think of her :D

Heh, it's a lot cheaper now to just go to Rome and Athens to see the Colosseum and the Akropolis yourself.
I've seen the former and have yet to see the latter.

They are pretty. But when I was at the Colosseum, I recall that there was a lot more traffic than this bg suggests. Or is all the traffic in Saint Seiya now airborne?

IMHO the Pantheon was much more impressive, as it is in better physical condition. And I liked how the Romans used green technology to design that bright light at the very top of the ceiling that costs nothing to operate, makes it easy to see inside when the place is open for tourists, and automatically goes out by itself when the place closes at the end of the day.

Ok, so, it's on E-bay, but still...

Just in case you've been dying to own cels from the classic US animation series Back to the Future, you can now own them all...or, most of them for the low, everyday price of $50,000!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BACK-FUTURE-SER ... 3f12232751

Check out some of the pictures on the listing. They've all been stored in cardboard boxes, for what I presume has been...since the production ceased in 1993? :O

You do get free shipping for that!

Seriously, it does make it clear why many studios were anxious to get this stuff out of their storerooms as quickly as possible. Some of those shelves look just about ready to collapse under the weight of those boxes. I'm sure there are studios that paid someone a fair chunk of money (not $50,000 or the equivalent, to be sure, but presumably a stiff fee) to remove stacks of similar cels, sketches, and original backgrounds off their premises and never bring any of it back again. Especially as I believe it is illegal to incinerate cels in Japan. (Because of the toxic smoke, not because it destroys national treasures.)

One wonders just what some of the material we so carefully conserve has been through before it arrives at our doorsteps.

The seller represents this colorful cel as being an OP sequence cel of Hikaru from Magic Knight Rayearth. MKR fans will see at once that it's not.

Actually it's Cutey Chao from Ai to Yūki no Piggu Gāru Tonde Būrin aka Super Pig. And not even from the OP sequence of that show. It's tempting, though, as Cutey Chao cels aren't common, and it reveals that the wristbands around her gloves represent cow hooves. I'd always suspected that "Chao" was supposed to imply "Cow" (or maybe "Chow," a common nickname for a cat, as fans of Unico understand).
