81 yen to dollar on Shipping Mail Japan 8O

My 1500 yen buy comes in at over $42.00- not including the shipping
I think I will really need to re-think about buying little items from now on...

Has anyone else been as shocked as me?

Evidently lots of people. IMHO this is one reason Nick has dropped the commissions for many of the levels of purchase.

Not shocked since I tend to do a rough calculation before bidding, but this fact has kept me from bidding on the "cheap" auctions I wouldn't think twice about in the past.

Oh boy. I didn't know the exchange rate had fallen that much. But I haven't won many things in the last three months.

A year and a half ago in, I got into a 2,487,500 yen
payment plan. Each month the payments have got worse.
Thank the Gods my last payment is this month. It certainly
cost me way more than I could have ever expected. X|

Sometimes I feel like that is what it should have been. X|
It was actually for a couple boxes of Samurai 7 genga.
When the opportunity presented itself, I jumped on it,
hoping the yen rate would improve. Now I am not sure
I would ever do something like that again. I think I would
prefer to have been overcharged in USD, rather than pay
in yen. At least then I would have known what I was going
to have to pay each month. :hurt:
