A couple of interesting auctions

I was just browsing and came across these two auctions:

If I had a few hundred dollars I could waste spending on laserdiscs, I would buy these. I've never seen a Daicon opening animation LD for sale before. Though since the seller can't play it and can't guarantee it actually works, I might be nervous - I seem to remember rumors that there was a problem with laser rot on some of the discs. Still, pretty cool!

Same seller. Says it's an original prop from ST:TNG with a certificate of authenticity and everything. You can finally own Data's head!

Do you have a laserdisc player? Do you have a LD collection?

I've got a few LDs, but not too many. I think I have about 10-12 LDs.

One of the staffers at FanimeCon this year had that Daicon LD and got it signed Hiroyuki Yamaga. He had his buddy record the event and Yamaga's surprise at seeing it is priceless. However he either had it personalized or Yamaga insisted that it be, not sure which one.

I've got a few LDs, but not too many. I think I have about 10-12 LDs.

I have about 100 or so LDs, and two LD players (one is a backup in case the other stops working). I don't use them often, but there are a few that I'll never get rid of. Since they never released Area 88 acts 2 and 3 in their entirety on DVD (they only released the compliation movie in both Japan and the US), I can't ever give up my LDs. Plus, if I ever do get the LoGH DVDs, I'll have the original first season LDs for comparison - they reanimated quite a bit of the first two seasons for the DVDs.
