I like to keep an eye on Nintama auctions. Lately there have been a lot of genga sets showing up from recent seasons, several of which I've bought. 90% of these went for minimum bid, typically 4-5000 yen. Some of them have had really nice drawings of some of the older students. One of these days I'll scan them, I swear.
Anyway, another genga set showed up last week, with several drawings from the same episodes that I bought a set from a couple of months ago. I think I won that one for minimum bid. This one started at 500 yen. 16 sheets. And the final bid? 36,500 yen?! Two bidders seem to have been determined to outbid each other, and this is what happens. http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... w107660886
I'll be the first to admit that the pictures from the auction are super cute. If the price hadn't shown signs of skyrocketing a couple of days ago, I'd totally have bid. I just hope it doesn't make starting bids for future sets more expensive.
