So far jaw271 got #'s 2 & 4 right. Marauder got # 3 right. SSK got # 1 right. The only one left is Korin's age. Now I don't know if his age is different in the manga than what i'm thinking, but to specify i'm going by what I heard on the US version DB series. At least I think I know the right answer.
I'll have to check again when I get home, but i'm pretty sure.

man I was way off on the saiyans tottaly forgot about pparagus and brolly haha, nice 1 marauder

Ok, so I was all mixed up, so sorry my mistake.
Marauder your right, Korin is 800 years old. I had his age mixed up with how long it took Master Roshi to catch Korin, which was 300 years. At any rate, both jaw271 & Marauder both got 2 out of 5 right, so i'll let you two decide who wants to take the next question.

Do I hafta know the answer to the question I ask ? lol hmmm..... well it would be cool if someone knew how many and what different outfits did goku wear during DB/DBZ/movies, but thats kind of hard and lengthy....hmm...ok heres one, what happens to Gokus saiyan space pod and why does it conflict with the storyline, why did this occour...sorta easy but its all I can think of atm
this is comming from the dub version as its the only one iv ever seen

Wow, the number of different outfits that Goku wore? That is a lengthy question. I'll just answer the other for now. The problem with the way the dub explains Goku's pod is that it was destroyed by Piccolo, but then used by Dr. Briefs to make the spaceship that Goku took to Namek! Oops! There is a way to explain this however--Dr. Briefs could use Nappa's space pod to make the ship that Goku uses. I don't know if this was the way it was explained in the Japanese version, but it's interesting that there is that contradiction in the US translation.
Anyone care to try answering the outfit question?
Anyone care to try answering the outfit question?
Yup, I believe it was because they were adding in fluff episodes while waiting for the manga to come out and ended up contradicting the future writingings of AT >< ...so your right!

Good luck with the new question, Marauder!

I think that Dragonball was originally a re-telling of Journey to the West (AKA Monkey) by Wu Cheng En a 16th century story based in turn on an old Chinese Legend.
In it Monkey was instructed by Buddah to aid a priest called Tripitaka in his quest to get the Holy Scriptures from India. They also pair up with Pigsy (a pig demon), Sandy (a fish demon) and a dragon that has been transformed into a horse.
He flys on a cloud transformed from his hair and wields an Extendable Staff.
I think he has many names in the book (grabs a copy and skim reads it) apart from Monkey but name in religion is Aware of Vacuity.
When I was a kid the BBC and a Japanese studio did a co production of it and I was totally addicted to it which I suppose could be the start of my love of Japanese Films and animation.
Check out the series here

Nice job, Bevhippy--I must have missed when you first posted. Yes, Toriyama based Goku on the Monkey King from that very story. There were a couple of cartoons produced from the tale, as well as a video game for playstation!

He's got a tail, powerpole, and rides around on a cloud! That sounds like Goku to me.
But you didn't tell me the answer to my first question... ah well, I'll just reveal that part. The original main character of the series was called "Dragon Boy." He looked vaguely like goku, but with dragon wings and no tail. Here's a little image:

You're next Bevhippy!

Hey I've never seen Dragonboy before but I see what you mean about him looking like Goku.
Anyway to the question.
Roshi is based on a character from an earlier manga by Toriyama.
1. What is the name of this character?
2. What series is he in?
3. How can you tell him and Roshi apart?

I'm not sure about this, but here goes.
1. Tsuru Chun
2. Dr. Slump
3. Roshi has a beard?
