To answer your question. Yes. Some people enjoy doing things like that. I can't for the life of me tell you why... but they do. There is dragonball comics i've seen out there with Goku and Vegeta holding and kissing each other. Just fantasies for some people I suppose... while others just are making a joke.

But people have time to do a lot of useless things on the internet, it seems.

Hi

Yeah, I guess people do like that sort of stuff, but I still can't see why, but I guess that everyone is different with his/her own tastes, likes and dislikes in stuff

Also I agree there are a lot of useless things on the internet

Hello K86,

What you are talking about is actually a very large segment of the Doujinshi (fan comics) published in Japan & elsewhere. This segment of the manga world is directed towards those who desire to see made up stories putting their favorite anime characters in different and mostly sexual situations. Of course these vary in degrees from soft core all the way to explicit depictions. As with all publishing if there was not a market with a profit to make these would not be published.

By your post these type of fan comics are not something you wish to see which is fine. You are the ultimate voice who determines what you watch & read. You should be aware that most of these Doujinshi are published with an adults only warning. Be aware that they are what they are so you can avoid them.

As to posts on other forums and links to image gallerys you have the choice to not read or view them.

As with anything in life you are free to watch & read what you wish. Do understand that with the world being a large place, others have different tastes. You may not share them but they like you have the right to do what they wish so ling as no laws are broken.
"Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment." Harlan Ellison

Heh... heh...

"different" tastes indeed.

I snagged my first Kenshin doujinshi based on the utterly fabulous artwork on the cover. Such a surprise awaited when I opened it...

Not that it stopped me from going back to that section of YJ, mind you. I do avoid the yaoi -- not because its existence offends me but because I can't see spending my hard-earned money on something like that and then having to ship it here as well :)

I'm soooo curious about what your original post might have been. Although I can guess its general slant maybe :)

I assume it was yaoi Doujinshi of DBZ and it just took K86 by surprise. I used to have a few Trigun, GDW and kenshin ones myself. Nothing explicit, but I ended up giving them away as freebies when I moved.

Well, don't feel bad K86 - the first time I stumbled across yaoi Gundam Wing stuff on the Internet a few years ago, I was pretty disturbed by it. Anymore, I'm indifferent about it - I guess if it's not your thing, you just have to learn to overlook it. I certainly have no interest in it, but now I get a chuckle everytime I see two of my favorite anime boys in hmm... shall we say 'compromising situations?' :P

With regard to Doujinshi, I collect homosexual/heterosexual or just plain shonen stuff. None of it bothers me, I just like to obtain as much material as possible from each series I enjoy. It's interesting to see other people's takes on the characters and storylines.
Although it does seem 'odd' to see a supposedly 'straight' 15-year old boy getting bonked by his best friend, a 16-year old boy, in the bathtub :^^:

*waves* I like the boy sex. I'm not ashamed to say it. I will point out, though, that I much prefer canon-based stories, (say, Shuichi/Yuki) rather than total crack pairings (like, say, Roy/Ed). And I want them to be of age. As for DBZ doujinshi? Wow, way too many muscles. Give me some pretty bishounen instead.

Yeah, what weyrlady said. Bishies are so much better to daydream about than muscle bound saiyans. Mind you, I find Gohan rather cute non-super saiyan. Teenage trunks (not from GT) is not bad to look at either

I'm not much into hentai, but seeing a bishie in a compromising position just makes me flutter a bit. :)

I'm a yaoi fan as well, but ONLY if there's evidence in canon to support the pairing. I really don't like random pairings that people come up with just because "oh, those two would be SO HOT together." :P

Gravitation, anyone? :D

I have to sheepishly admit, though, coming across a wonderful collection of Zelgadis/Xellos/Gourry stories of various combinations that I thought were excellent. It bugged me a little that Zel was always portrayed as the weak-willed, needy one (although I can understand why), but Xellos is pretty much a wildcard anyway... And I could just see Gourry being protective and caring of his best bud, even if it led to something unexpected.

Maybe it's because a lot of my very favorite people in the world just happen to be gay guys -- including my 2nd best buddy (after Kymaera, who is not). :shrug Dunno.

The yaoi doujinshi that really bother me are the really violent, angry ones. Geez. Creepy.

Until a cockroach scurries across the floor and both of you are standing in the chair screaming. :P

I'll admit the first time I saw yaoi I was shocked. "What the heck is Piccolo doing to Vegeta?!" Now that I realize it's out there I'm indifferent to it. People like different things.

Yeah - those are indeed creepy and somewhat frightening at the same time!

Funny you should mention knowing some gay guys -- my very own brother is gay and I love him and his boyfriend to death - they're such great guys and they're completely adorable together.
