Shoot...I forgot. There was a Yawara! live action movie too. I kind of liked that movie as a live action adaption. The main lead was appealing. It wasn't much of a stretch to make a live movie of this compared to some other adaptions because Yawara was mainly about fairly real life stuff anyway.

Err... I think you can take it pretty seriously since principle photography has begun and shooting will commence somewhere around January 2006. And yes, Alita will be a completely C.G. character and appartently it will be in 3D.
Battle Angel will be a must-see for me. I'm a huge fan of the manga and anime. I've been reading updates on the movie from a variety of sources by googling it occaisionally to keep myself up-to-date.

There SHOULD be more than one Battle Angel.
If I'm not mistaken there were five "chapters" of Battle Angel in the manga.
And I definetely want to see the "Robot-Rollerball" chapter on a huge screen.
The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?
If any of you are wanting to see what i think is quite possibly the best anime to live action conversion get casshern watched. I'm not kidding it is quite possibly one of my favourite films. It has a final fantasy cut scenes feel to the film and the action is just top notch. Another film worth watching is Volcano High. This film is mint and is centred around ki attacks and shows what a dragonball film could be like if they were to make one now. Take my advice and get both of these watched u will luv them.

Don't watch it for the brilliant storyline or fantastic acting... but slap a red suit on the main character (who could be in super saiyan mode ) and watch live action DBZ action.

So I'm guessing that I should watch the Korean version - not the one starring Pat Morita and Snoop Dog *according to Netflix*

I have copies of the Chinese live-action Dragonball and the Japanese live-action Maison Ikkoku. Both are movies that I have little desire to ever sit through again. Actually, the Dragonball has a nice campiness to it. My favorite Chinese adaptation is Jackie Chan's version of City Hunter. There's also a couple of drama versions of Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, and the drama version of Salaryman Kintaro is much longer than the anime. I am also the proud owner of an original VHS tape (not a copy!) of the live action "Tokyo Babylon 1999" movie - something every CLAMP or Tokyo Babylon/X fan should see at least once in their life.
Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.
I was actually very disappointed in City Hunter, as it was always "Goofy Ryo" who was portrayed. And although the martial arts sequences are once again "Chantastic", the movie never shows Ryo being the best marksman in the Eastern hemisphere.
