GW - fan cel?

Ok - I'm nearly 100% positive this is a fan cel... because I've compared the image to the actual image from a poster or wherever it was used (can't remember now) and the hair isn't quite right. But it seems hard to tell by the translation of the auction that it is indeed a fan cel... anyone care to say for sure? Or does anyone else out there know something I don't?

The only clue I see is that it says "new" cel. But it doesn't have any of the other familiar words that mean fancel. But I'd be worried since the seller as not much feedback left. And the image does just look weird... his body looks compressed or something. But his face is still pretty, eh?

Actually - yeah, the image is close to one used for a poster I think.. why I can't remember, I don't know. The other thing I noticed is that the eye color isn't quite right either...

it's gotta be a fan cel, but all the translations I've used don't give anything that indicates what the heck it is. LOL. I wasn't even thinking of bidding anyway, but I'm merely curious what others think.

And of course, it's Heero.. so would ya expect me to not pay attention? Hee hee!

It just says "pan cel". So I cannot see anywhere it is a fan cel.... Also I do not see any detailed description for it. so I cannot help you much

I've seen the two auctions that the seller posted up before. Both looked very suspicious - the first one was CCS, the second one was MKR. The description was the same as this one - for a pan cel. Sorry I didn't post my reservations earlier - I know a deputy service won the first cel.

I am sure that this is a fan cel. I compared the image to one I found in my Gundam Wing Memorials II artbook (it's a very pretty artbook, btw). On my cursory examination, I foud these discrepancies:

1. The image is flipped in the artbook. I don't know if this actually makes a difference or not.

2. The actual image extends beyond the point in the picture. The seller might have just failed to take a complete picture of the cel...

3. Heero has wrinkles on the collar of his jacket that are not in the cel. For me, that clinches it.

If anyone wants to see the image, I'll be happy to take a piccy w/ my digital camera.

Ahh - even more discrepancies - yep, that clinches it for me too - it's definitely a fan cel.

Yeah, I spotted this too, passed it by w/o giving it a second glance---- I mean, something about the look btwn his eyes and nose is wrong..... thought it mightve been a "young" Heero, maybe? But no---- if I ever see another cel of this likes, I'll be sure to post a headsup next time.

Yep - I knew the image, so I took a closer look at it - then I looked at the seller's feedback and was like.. hmm.. this one smells fishy.

Actually, it's a really nicely done fancel. It matches the picture in my artbook almost perfectly, except for the lapels of the jacket of course.

But I would warn others not to bid on any other auctions by the seller - they're similar in description to this one. Although I'm inclined to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, maybe that person doesn't know they're fancels.

it just looked, for whatever reason in my mind, unlike an actual GW-production Heero cel. I see a cel like this I assume its a fancel and move on to the next.

Course im taking the risk that its not really a fancel

but im willing to wait out for one Im certain of.

Well, it certainly wouldn't be a production cel, per say... it would be a hanken cel of sorts... and considering first, the rarity of GW hankens - there's flag #1. yeulih is right though, it matches pretty well, and the discrepancies between it and the real image are tough to spot unless you're really scrutinizing it. I do see that there's a rinkya bidder on it... I hope they realize that it's a fan cel.
