You are not the only one. I don't know if I like Yakitate. I have a stimulating relationship with Sith-Krillin.

Kage Kara Mamoru 6 (okay - 5.3):
This show was a bit more serious than the previous episodes. I don't think there's really a main plot to this. It's like Magikano - add several girls with varying personalities to the mix. Then put them in different situations and create jokes for them. But...I still find them a fairly fun way to pass time.
Daiakuji 0-1 (okay/fair - 5.2):
This anime has some fairly complex relationships going on between the characters (but they're not a FRACTION as complex as the Triangle Hearts game series relationships.
). I thought the character designs were above average, but this anime was basically about the H-scenes and had little room left for the game's plots. I guess if you want PLOT you have play the game eh?
Futakoi Alternative skimmed 5-8 again, completely watched 9-12 all the way through and rewatched final episode 13(fairly good/pretty good - 7.0):
This is one of those rare times when I actually feel a lot differently about an anime after seeing it again. There are important reasons for this:
MINOR SPOILERS FOR FUTAKOI ALTERNATIVE:
Shakugan no Shana 19 (decent/fairly good - 5.7):
I thought this was pretty good. We got some nice action and I like what they did with the romance angle. It makes me eager to find out how everything is going to be resolved at the end. It should be a good ending.
Papillon Rose New Season 2 (okay - 5.4):
I didn't enjoy this as much as the first episode. It didn't really have any surprises this time, but I still found it fun. The intentionally corny music was a nice touch.
And what the heck is going on with the episode preview for next week? LOL
Fate/stay night 7 (decent - 5.6):
What I liked the most about this episode was the interaction between the characters. And...uh...Rin and Sakura were pretty cute too. (*^_^*)
MINOR SPOILERS FOR EPISODES 1-7 OF FATE/STAY NIGHT:
But I hope there's some good, dramatic evil stuff later in the story.
The Fate/stay night game was rated pretty highly by gamers (much higher than Shuffle!). But you know how these things go. Games are usually much better than their anime just like manga are usually much better than their respective anime.
Love Doll 1 (okay/fair - 5.2):
This reminded me a bit of those old Cream Lemon and Imma Youjo 2 episodes. This anime came out in 1997. I can't see the main couple's situation and NOT be reminded of Fencer Minerva.
I liked parts of this story, but I didn't care for other parts hence...the somewhat in-between rating from me.

This is one of those rare times when I actually feel a lot differently about an anime after seeing it again. There are important reasons for this:
MINOR SPOILERS FOR FUTAKOI ALTERNATIVE:
1. The biggest reason was that the first time I went through Futakoi Alternative, I found parts of it so disappointing, weird or slow that I skipped over them. By the time I got to end of the anime I had skipped over and missed several major plot points. Since I knew these important plot points the second time through, the story had a lot more meaning and I no longer felt like skipping through it. 2. While rewatching it, I already knew about the weird stuff involving the squid so I accepted those parts. The talking squid was still strange, but I accepted it this time as being symbolic of other issues that Rentarou had. Sometimes I even found the squid funny. LOL ![]() So overall I give high marks to Futakoi Alternative. I know a lot of people don't like it. It blends so many genres together that it's just considered "crap" to a lot of people. I know it's just NOT acceptable to the great majority of anime fans. It goes from having a very serious and dramatic tones to being wacky, hectic-crazy talking squid in a heartbeat (it's almost Gainax-like in that respect). Heck...even I didn't care for it the first time through so I can understand people feeling that way. But I thought it was very good series. The three main characters had such a nice bond. It was beautiful thing to behold. ![]() |

MINOR SPOILERS FOR EPISODES 1-7 OF FATE/STAY NIGHT:
Judging by the first seven episodes, I can tell there's going to be a decent amount of talking in this series. That doesn't really bother me. There's got to be stuff preventing quick fights to the death or else all the pairs except for one will be dead after ten episodes. ![]() |

Here's what I watched February 18th-March 3rd:
Kage Kara Mamoru 7 (okay/decent - 5.5):
I liked this episode. I have a soft spot for cute osananajimi (childhood friend) stories. This episode showed Yuna and Kagemori when they were kids. Even though it wasn't meant to be taken seriously, I still liked it a lot better than the early, bland Lamune osananajimi scenes. It was definitely cute.
Step Sister 1-2 (fair - 5.1):
Lamune episodes 4-12 (end):
The Lamune episodes centered on:
4. Tae-sempai (fair/so-so - 4.9)
5. Suzuka (fair/so-so - 4.9)
6. Hikari (so-so - 4.8 )
7. Misora (mediocre - 4.4)
8. Hiromi part 1 (okay/fair - 5.2)
9. Hiromi part 2 (okay/fair - 5.2)
10. (spoiler)(okay/fair - 5.2)
11. (spoiler)(okay/fair - 5.2)
12. (spoiler)(decent 5.6)
I thought I would try watching the rest of this show. I stopped after three episodes because I thought the animation, story and characters were pretty bland.
Well my opinion didn't change at all concerning the earlier episodes. I thought the animation remained bland. The characters didn't look too good at all (very flat and unimpressive). The osananajimi (childhood friend) stories I thought remained mostly bland too. Normally I really like osananajimi stories, but these stories in Lamune didn't feel special, cute or particularly moving.
I agree with what one blogger said. A good way to watch this series is to watch the first episode, the beginning of episode three and then episode eight onward. Episode eight is where I felt things begin to pick up. Another problem I had with this series was that I'm not able to get into Nanami's character. She's very naive and simple-minded. She's supposed to come off as cute, but it doesn't go that way to me. She's just not very likeable to me personally. She remains one of my least favorite ren'ai game anime female leads of all time.
The last episode I thought was good and the animation looked better in it. It's too bad that just when the animators were getting the hang of working as well as they could with a smaller budget, the show ended.
Some people have compared Lamune to the first To Heart anime series and I can see some of the comparisons. Unfortunately many of the reasons I like To Heart are not in Lamune. The only advantage I give Lamune over To Heart is that the last episode was more dramatic.
It definitely feels like I'm missing in-between scenes from the Lamune game (the scenes that would fill things out to make them feel "special").
That means probably no Lamune sketches for me.
Virtuacall 2 ep.1-2 (okay - 5.3):
Forgot what I was going to say about this show. It's been too long already.
Shakugan no Shana 20 (decent/fairly good - 5.7):
This was mostly a rather laid back episode. I guess it's giving us a bit of a breather so the characters could collect their thoughts. It had some humor to it, but mostly it was melancholy and sad. Nice cliffhanger at the ending there.
Fate/stay night 8 (decent - 5.6):
Things are getting mixed up a bit now. The seventh servant finally makes an a cameo here (I found out how the seventh servant looks like earlier last week). The next episode should have some pretty cool fight scenes.
Sextra Credit 1-2 (fair - 5.1):
Intentionally wacky storyline will only get you so far. Ah...the plane! The plane!
Magikano 6 (fair - 5.1):
I don't think I was in the right mood to watch this when I did. I was feeling run down and worn out - not the proper mood for enjoying a comedy. I didn't find this episode too funny. Most of my laughs were in the second half. I'm not sure how much more of this series I should watch. There are probably other shows airing now that I should be paying more attention to (such as Canvas 2).
Magikano 7 (okay/fair - 5.2):
Liked it more than episode six, but I still wasn't rolling with it.
Shakugan no Shana 21 (fairly good - 5.8 ) :
I thought this was a good episode. We should have a nice big finale coming up in the next few episodes. Too bad it's apparently almost over.
Maid in Heaven 1 (okay/fair - 5.2):
Hey! Who is that doing the main guy's voice? It sounds like Hiroyuki from To Heart.
The art was okay, but there wasn't much story going on there (only H-scenes).
Fate/stay night 9 (decent/fairly good - 5.7):
Okay...so how many of you knew who this guy was? I had to look his name up. Looks like we're in for some comedy next episode.
This week (March 1st-5th) I used up about six hours of my time playing "Crescendo":
http://www.freetype.net/reviews/review. ... 1,20040309
It feels a little Maria-sama-ish with it's laid back atmosphere and Chopin background music. I bought the game nine months ago and saved it until now.

An academic friend practically strapped me to a chair with duct tape and made me watch Heibane Renmei (The Graywing Protectorate) from start to finish (13 episodes) in an afternoon and a morning, interrupted only by a screening of Kurosawa's late film Yume (Dreams).
I found it intriguing on more than one level. First, the characterization, visual and verbal, is very sharply executed: without much effort one quickly learns the characters' names, their personality traits, and their histories. That's a plus, since often I find it very difficult to tell the characters apart in a series I'm starting. (This was particularly true with Air, where I still have trouble remembering
Second, I thought the storytelling was well paced: leisurely but consistent in building tension. Things didn't happen all of a sudden, in a melodramatic way, and so when they did happen, they seemed motivated and powerful, often in a visceral way. This left room along the way for us to learn a lot about the characters and the world where they live, often in a playful, light way that my friend and I found reminiscent of Dickens.
Finally, the series makes interesting and wideranging allusions to world religion and mythology, including (a big surprise to me) Lutheranism, which sounds silly on the face of it, but in fact delivers a huge emotional wallop in the series climax. It's the first Japanese series that I felt really understood the gritty, pre-intellectual roots of Christianity rather than the superficial rituals and symbols (ala Hellsing, which I find a tremendous hoot for trying to distinguish the agendas of the Church of England vis-a-vis Catholicism with the help of vampires.)
I move it to a very short list of anime series at the very top of the genre's achievement.
(Now will you take off the duct tape, Dr. Akiyama, and let me go to the bathroom?
)

Next question? I think you mean "it's" or "it is" not "its". Wow it sounds really interesting, zerospace.
