One Year Anniversary!

Okay, so the official anniversary date of my gallery was on May 23rd. Well, I at least started my update then. I had planned on getting all of my new acquisitions up by that date, but I got a litte sidetracked.

Anyway, I finally finished tonight, so here are some cels for your viewing pleasure.

I love the "Pissy Fairy" from DDD. Heck, even I might have considered sniping you if I'd seen it. You make a very good case for this series, which I know nothing about except that the cels are often sidesplitting.

And thanks for the plug and link to my "Wild Firey"! (I've added a link to your new cel in my description, so people can go back and forth ad infinitum.) That is a beautifully designed Card spirit in one of his finest sequences, and I'm glad you nabbed one of these powerful cels.

And the Meilin cel is really awesome. She's one of these characters who could have been simply an annoying pain. She is, but the script writers (among them Ageha Ohkawa, CLAMP's story-planner) really gave her a multifaceted personality that, in the end, fully captivates many viewers. She may be even more sympathetic than the protagonist, because Meilin's story is tragic, while we know that Sakura "will be all-right, absolutely."

I'm 99% sure that's from ep. 21, the "endless marathon" adventure, possibly from the start where she thinks she's certain to defeat Sakura in the upcoming race. But ask KCF, the champeen, to be sure.

I'll just add that the pan Indra cel from Gokudo is also wondrous to behold in its own way, even with the bored animator graffiti!

Thanks for the compliments on the Meilin. When I saw that witchy look on her face, I just knew that I had to have her. I really did hate her at first, but I eventually began to see where she was coming from just before she left. She redeemed herself a little in my eyes in the second movie.

I'll have to set aside some more time tomorrow so that I can view them in more detail and read your thoughtful comments properly.

Those DDD cels are amusing and like Sensei, I can see why you were happy to purchse the 'Pissy Fairy', she's gorgeous. On a similar theme is the Firey Bishie from CCS, he looks cool too [as cool as a red-hot person can be]

Gokudo's another title I haven't seen but I feel a draw towards the artwork too. In fact I've already got a few pieces *heh*. It's good to see your ones with backgrounds- they make a neat selection.

Of course, a VERY happy anniversary to you as well!! May the success of your collecting roll on for many more years.

I have to say, I'm not familiar with DDD, but you have the best cels from it that I have ever seen. Yes, the Pissy Fairy is a really nice cel, congrats on getting it.

You have some really nice cels, but I would have to say the "Awwww...Shoot" cel from Gokudo is my favorite, it's a really nice cel.

Wonderful new additions! I have to say though I was laughing when I read the Sakura with the sequence number of 98. I thought my 74 was a high number. (No, it's not a sequence mate to yours.) Congrats!

Krafty: You say obscene like it's a good thing . . . maybe it is. I'm glad that so many people can see my attraction to the fairy. Like I said, I wanted a cel of her from the moment I saw her on my computer screen, so I was esctatic when she popped up on YJ.

Kaije: So, am I a young'un, then? I've been really lucky as far as Daa goes; from what I've heard, it used to be a lot more popular to collect from. But, it never reached American shores, so popularity has died out. Which is a double-edged sword . . . the only way to get it translated is through a single fansub group, which hasn't finished subtitling it, and my Japanese isn't good enough to watch anime without help.

DT: Thanks for checking it all out! Yep, the sequence number really surprised me. 74?! That's pretty insane, too! Now I'm going to have to go through your CCS stuff and find that one . . .
