It's things like this that make us realize how lawsuit hungry our society is.
One nation, under lawyers with 30%+ cuts for them all.

And on a less serious note:

Heh...I thought you were going to say that they banned tag because school officals didn't want children to feel "unequal" with the others.

That's been another reason given for not having tag. Really.

The lawyers are doing their jobs. It's the parents that are to blame. Humans are the only species on Earth that allows the weakest of the species to survive and breed. It's the parents of these weaker, slower kids that sue when their little wuss gets hurt. Whatever happened to allowing your kids to experience life? Playing your hardest and losing. Giving it all you got and coming up short. Trying to make a play and getting hurt. These are character building experiences. Now, most schools don't recognize winners and losers in sports. In CT, if a soccer team gets more than three goals ahead, the winning team must remove one player from the field. I am sick and tired of my generation bringing weak-bodied and weak-minded kids into this world.

Can you tell I had a bad day at work today?

Some of this might have to do with the playground. Supervised sports are often played on the grassy field, whereas recess is held on a concrete and asphalt playground, and needless injuries occur. X|

Around here they are working on replacing the paved school playgrounds with grass, so that kids can run around and fall down as they do in play, but such grounds are much more expensive to maintain. :$$$:

Just remember that if kids play a game, no should keep score so that neither side will lose self-esteem for not being on the same level as the other side. :D

Don't keep score and after the game is over give both winning teams the same big trophy to increase their self-esteem further. lol :wow:

In Nevada, school playgrounds not only used padded foam bases, but also use ground aspen in stead of sand. Whatever happened to those playgrounds of death we used? Remember the "merry" go round? The one you'd sit on while your friends twirled it so fast you could see back in time.
