Do you collect/display cel sequence mates in your gallery?
I don't mind having sequence mates myself but I just received my Rinkya package yesterday with a massive Mahoujin Guru Guru haul. Many cels had sequence mates with them and even some of the new ones were sequence mates to ones I already had in my collection. Now I have for example cels A5, A6, & A7 from a sequence that looks so identical that you can only tell them apart by their cel numbers. Believe me I'm not complaining! I love this series so much that I'm happy and ecstatic to have every single cel that I've acquired, sequence mate or not!
I also wanted to know if you display the mates in your gallery or just do not bother with the "extras" and only display one of them.

I always do if they are dramatically different: such as my three CCS cels of Meilin vs. Fight or my two of Sakura getting her Wings. In fact, I devoted a whole corridor to my sequence-mates of Sakura capturing The Fly. And I also posted a sequence-mate recently in my Hyper Police gallery when I got a cel of Natsumi that had an extra layer that my other cel lacked.
But in the case of some TnN sequence mates, I've more often just left them in the cel book or relegated them to a thumbnail, as in this cel of Papa riding his bike.
I guess I think there's such as thing as being obsessive about showing what you own, and if I'm going to put up an image, I want it to be something that's interesting or educational. My suggestion would be to post the nicest of the sequence you own and either post the others as thumbnails or just mention in the description that you have them.
Congratulations, by the way, on receiving a nice haul of cels you want and cherish. I know that's one of the great joys in life, even if curating them is sometimes a hassle.

I agree with sensei. I show sequence mates if they are different. My other sequence mates I like to make a gigantic image file with cel/sketch/screencap comparisons of all of the sequence mates and place it as a thumbnail for those who wish to see the wonderful animation process! I guess I don't really like to hide any of my beauties ^.^
As a side note I love sequence mates. Even if I have a bunch of cels that look exactly alike. It is awesome to animate them and see them in motion, especially if you can manage to get a lot of cels from a sequence of your favorite character/scene. Sometimes in one sequence there will be two shots of a character that I like very much so I try to get cels from both of those shots!

I have only bought same sequence cels that were similar to each other once and that was mainly because they were only ?$8 each. They were add-on after thoughts to an order I was already in the process of completing. I haven't posted up either one.
I don't remember ever buying more than two cels from the same sequence. All three pairs of cels I've posted in my cel gallery are thumbnailed next to each other on the same series page:
Doukyuusei Mai/Wataru with and without background:

Tokimeki Memorial OVA Miharu with background and the much cheaper one with a copy background, but the phone placement made a big difference:

Tenkousei with and without background, but the blonde girl is facing in different directions:

I may be in the minority, but I really don't like sequence mates. I would prefer having different scenes, different positions-the widest possible variety of that certain character as possible. Buying a sequence mate is like throwing away money for something you already have (unless you are trading up and planning to get rid of the original cel you had).
However, sketches are different. I like displaying sketch sequence mates to show the flow of the scene and the movement from one image to the next. I won't go out of my way to purchase them though-they would have to be included in the set originally.

although I should say I respect people who do collect sequence mates...the previous was only my personal feelings on the matter as regards to my own collecting:)

I guess it depends on how much I like the scene (or if the second cel that came up was really cheap!
) But if I do have sequence mates, I usually would update it along side the first one. If I have A LOT, I'll probably make an ani-gif or something, sort of like douga sets.

I try to avoid Sequence mates and should I have them I have a tendency to sell them off. Unless they're distinctly different cels. I'd usually rather have two totally different shots. I feel the same way about sketch sets if it's a bunch of the same character I usually keep a single sheet and sell the others. I do like to keep the douga/roughs/corrections/genga all together for the same shot though.
It's very, very rare that I'll try to buy sequence mates. I've got a few in lots
or as freebies, but that's about it.
The only sequence mates that I actually tried to get both on were my
Pia Carrot cels. They were SO perfect together that I couldn't resist.
The sequence mates that I decide to keep, I display in my gallery.
However, since I bought a couple of huge lots of Gokudo cels, I decided to
spread the love a bit instead.
