I am trying to clear off some space on my hard drive, and I'd like to transfer some of my own videos and a few downloaded vids that I've saved to watch later over to DVD. The program I have keeps trying to reformat everything to a real DVD format, so my junk will take a LOT of space! I want it to stay in whatever format it's in so the file size stays small. What programs to you guys use to burn video? (And I'm sure I've read a thread addressing this long time ago, but I couldn't find it now. If it would be easier just to link me to that old conversation, that would be fine too!) Computer-moron Shellie thanks you for your input!!

Ah! Shell! I said something about this elsewhere, but . . .
If you want to use Sonic, just select to make a "data disc." Then, double click on "Volume Label" and rename it, otherwise the program will name it something like VHFKLHJ97893.
Then, click "Add data" and select the files (any format, .avi included). If you hold down the Ctrl button while you click on the files you want to add, you can add them all at once. When you've got all the files you want selected (there's a little DVD in the bottom-left corner that tells you how much memory is left on the DVD), click the red button (I think it says "start project" or something). It'll take about 20 minutes.
If you want to watch them on TV, you'll need a DVD player that can play .avi and such files. My sister has one--they're pretty cheap.
Moop, you'd rather have a DVD than a CD because you can fit about 25 episodes on a DVD and 3 or 4 on a CD.
