I have maybe 20 or so cels that I haven't found the right background for yet which is why I haven't scanned them yet.

Sketches? I can't begin to count. :hurt: I've got new ones in that are too big for my scanner and I just haven't gotten around to piecing together. I've got old sets that I had completely forgotten about X| ....so for a guess-timate somewhere around 20 cuts and another 15 to 20 odds and ends sketches.

Hehe. This is part of why I posted this thread. I am an absolute hypocrite when it comes to scanning and updating. I never find time to do it but find myself looking at other people's galleries and thinking, "When will you update again? WHEN!?" I can't wait to see what they will add next but have little motivation to add my own things.

Hmmm. Zero.

That doesn't mean I'm not behind on updating. It's just that for me the scanning part is the easiest. The part that slows me down is identifying the episode and getting time to sit down and write something about the cel.

I just have one setti to add, but.....................I am trying to go back and update all my oldest images from when I rushed my gallery up (scanned and posted 464 items in three weeks with postings every day) and I have a newer scanner now. Something to do this weekend

I'm kind of compulsive about updating when I get stuff. I always felt a bit guilty about that, but it makes me feel a lot better to see there are many other folks who do the same thing, so I'm in good company. :)

Right now, though, I have 6 sketches to scan. They came in the mail this morning, just as I was running out to the mall. I didn't even get to open them until just now, which was so hard. I swear, I was at the mall, telling my hubby: "We need to hurry up! I got a package, and I want to go home and open it." 8O

Yeah ... I really am that freaking sad. :hurt: X|

Of course, since my RS gallery is closed for the time being, I guess it doesn't matter if I scan stuff or not. I'll update it on my main site, but I don't think too many people go there. RS loads a lot faster, and it's just an easier place to look at galleries.

ahh.. Unlike many who have posted sad smilies because they have nothing to scan I am :D. Sometimes it just feels good to know you have no backlog. Of course soon... (couple of days) I plan to make another order (chances are this will be my last order till at least end of dec etc.).

I really admire that about you Tex. You're one of the people I was thinking about when I made this thread. I always look forward to your updates and reading your lengthy commentary. It's definitely a treat for visitors and you set such a great example of the kind of collector I wish I was.

Until yesterday, it was only 3 cels and 60 pages of Pichi Pichi Pitch settei.

However, I receivd my SMJ package yesterday...so, the total now stands at:

350-ishy pages of Pichi Pichi Pitch and Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure Settei

100-ishy pages of Rozen Maiden Traumend CG work

20 cels

And about 40 or so cels that need to be photoshopped.

I'm generally really good about keeping on top of the scanning. I woke up with the intent to scan today prior to heading to work. But, it looks like I'm going to have to reinstall my scanning software prior to doing so. And, if that doesn't work, it won't be until I receive my new pc.

Ummmm . . . 4 or so? I think . . . I also need cel bags. X|

Like so many others, I'll have a lot more when I get my SMJ package in.

Estimating:

I have about eight single sketches or sketch sets where I'd only want to scan one sketch. Then I have about forty three sketch sets where I'd want to scan more than one sketch. :shrug

As far as unscanned cels go...I don't know. 110-140? (that's only counting the cels I intended on buying. I'm not counting the extras that came with those cels).
Why is it so hard to keep up with scanning? Do you buy too much and can't keep up the pace? Or is there some other reason?
I'm too picky with how the scan looks. So it's not uncommon for one cel to take ninety minutes to scan properly and upload. That's making four scans - Rubberslug/Tripod large pic, Rubberslug thumbnail, Tripod thumbnail and avatar (for record keeping purposes). Then I have to write out my thoughts on the cel which racking my brain might take a awhile as I refer back to years old records for information on it. I want to make sure I'm spelling names correctly too so that requires a trip to ANN or a message board thread.

All this takes a long time and makes me feel lazy about doing it again. I could be catching up on two or three anime episodes and writing my thoughts on them in that amount of time. :P

I don't like posting stuff that soon after I got them (especially sketches). But I know that's excuse since I haven't scanned a lot of my OTHER old stuff, but it SOMEWHAT explains why I haven't posted sketches. Just about all the sketches I've bought came from the last year and a half. So the age of them kills that plan even before it starts. :^^:

Most of my better cels are up already though so I guess don't consider it a huge deal. :shrug
