Ok - I just have to share this

Post by Gonzai »

About 4:00 this morning, I received a call from my
oldest son. Their daughter is teething, and for the
past couple of nights, they have had little to no sleep,
so they wondered if I would come pick her up (not that
I need to sleep or anything :hurt: ).

Well, since I adore my granddaughter, I said sure. I
got up, changed, and went and picked her up. No big story
right. Well it was all pretty routine until I left their house
and started to head home.

About a half a mile from their house, in the middle of the
road, lay a body. I mean in the middle of the road. He
was not moving, and I was like OMG. 8O Well, seeing as
how I had Aurelia, I wasn't going to stop and check it out,
however, I slowed way down - to make sure I was really
seeing what I was seeing - and I called 911.

So, as I am calling 911, I go to turn the corner on the next
street, and all of a sudden, the guy turns and looks right at
me. Now if you think that is not freaky - guess again. :puzzled
This guy was all coved in white stuff all over his face and
chest. I thought it was some kind of joke, so I turned around
and came back - thinking he would be gone - but nope, he is
still laying in the middle of the street - not moving. :wow:

So I go down the street to the Kwik Shop, and go inside
and was going to see if someone else would go check on
him since I had Aurelia. But, while I was in there, the police
went by - so I went ahead and went back to check it out.
Low and behold, the guy is standing on the sidewalk talking
to the police. Looked like he had shaving cream or something
all over himself. :tongue

So, I am not sure what the real story is here, nor do I think
I want to know - though I assume he was drunk or something.
All I can say is he is lucky he did not get run over by a car
and killed or something. People seem to do the strangest
things sometimes. :shrug

So, anyone else have something wierd like that ever happen? 8O

Oh my gosh! That is so scary, Gonzai!! 8O 8O

I'm so glad everything turned out OK, especially since you had your precious grandbaby with you. I would be terrified. I mean, what in the world was that guy doing? And, then, because he turned to watch you drive by -- it makes it seem even more like he was up to something really sick and evil, instead of just being a drunk in the road or something, you know?

I'm very thankful nothing like that has ever happened to me. And, I'm so thankfkul you and Aurelia are both OK! *gloms*

Wow... 8O

That -is- freaky. Never had anything like that happen. Once had a deer attempt to leap over a car I was driving (it failed miserably); but a guy lying in the road definitely tops that!
Maybe it was a college prank gone wrong?

You know, I really don't know what was up. I would
say the guy was definately up to something, though.
I am glad I didn't stop to see if he was ok. Now I
remember why I don't go out at 4:00 in the morning. X|

I say check your local newspaper, they cover police calls don't they?

I figure it could be two things other than drunk or hurt.
1) Some type of initiation ritual for college or something.
2) An attemp at car-jacking. If you had stopped and gotten out,
he may have jumped you. God knows.

Either way, I'm so glad you didn't stop!

That is just scary. The guy could very well be drunk but he could be a car-jaker or something. Waiting for some good hearted person to stop to check on him and take off with the car. You just never know in situations like this. I think you did the right thing by calling the police and not get out of your car, especially since you have your granddaughter with you.

8O Holy crap that is creepy! I'm so glad that you did have Aurelia with you so you stayed in the car. He could have been drunk or an armed nutjob. It sounds like you did the right thing he was taken care of either way. You're right... he's so lucky that no one ran him over.

I would have hit my horn and woke up the neighborhood. I find that when you do that cops arrive to the scene a lot faster then if you were to call them. :D
