I think I need a deeper algorithm.

I was just thinking of you yesterday and I was going to PM you today to see how Lisa was doing. It's so good to hear that she is out of the hospital! I'll continue to pray for her speedy recovery. :friends:

8O AO, that was harrowing just to read, I can't even begin to imagine what it was like to go through personally. Thank goodness your daughter will be alright, and hopefully this didn't take too much out of you!

Best wishes for your daughter's continued recovery. :)

Wow. That is just an emotional drain! I hope you both are still able to enjoy the season and have some fun. :)

So glad she made it through alive! Car wrecks are no fun, no matter how big or small. I've been through two.

I hope she continues to improve and do well! *more hugs*
And I hope you don't overwork yourself! *even more hugs*

Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts and well wishes. I will pass them on to Lisa.

Yes, Baakay that is the call you don't want to get. I got it from a lady first on the scene who was able to get my phone # from Lisa and got a blow by blow account *you're daughter was in an accident...she was concious to give me your number....the emergency crew are cutting her out of the car....the careflight will be here soon* The more she said the worst it got. Thankfully, Roger, my other half, was in Reno and I was able to call him on the cell phone at the same time *me telling him what happen, him telling me it will be ok as she is adding details *isn't technology great*. So he was able to go to the hospital before he got stuck in traffic and be there when Lisa arrived.

The worried mom genes were at max but so were the worried dad genes. Roger has been a huge help and he has been able to put work on hold more than me which has be a tremendous stress reliever.

And yes, after seeing both cars in the impound lot, I am thankful she is still with us.

I will post an update to let everyone know how the knee surgery goes.

....btw, kymaera, love the humor. :)

Update on my daughter, Lisa

her broken leg has healed and she is able to put weight on it, so today she had surgery on her right knee to reconstruct the ACL ligament. It went well, but I'm not sure she was ready to be in that much pain again so soon. Moving her knee really bothered her. At least we still have some great pain meds left from when she came home from the hospital. This one was outpatient surgery, so she is greatful to be at home. She has an appointment to see the Dr again on Jan 2.

It will be a year she won't forget....accident on Halloween, out of the hospital at day before Thanksgiving and surgery right before Christmas...

I'm glad that things are moving ahead: pain is a lot easier to manage when it's a sign of healing rather than the opposite. Being able to start to walk again, I'm sure, will be as good a pain med than the pink pills.

It certainly has been a dark corner of the year! No wonder humanity puts so many festivals during these months to try to cheer us all up. (And a shame that they in themselves can be a lot of stress.) But Imbolc's a-comin' (Groundhog Day, the celebration of the light at the end of the tunnel), and so is recovery for your daughter and you.

Our thoughts remain with you.

Oh, poor Lisa; what an absolutely wretched way to end the year! But the worst seems to be nearly behind her now, so I fervently hope that she manages to have a very merry Christmas and a joyful New Year in spite of it all.

I think it's wonderful and amazing, by the way, how well her mom is holding up through all of this. :friends:

Aww, that's so sad. :O I'm glad she's ok, she's clearly a very brave girl. I know she appreciates her supportive and loving mom. :)

I am so glad that your daughter is going so well. We lost a family member to a car accident this year, and her loss is especially apparent during this holiday season. She had lived a long life and had two children and 2 grandchildren who she loved very much. Your daughter is only at the beginning of her journey though, and I am glad that she is ultimately alright. I hope her life is long and that this is the worst that she ever experiences.

What they said.

I'm so glad she's able to use the leg again. And while knee pain is the pits... the absolute PITS ... in a few weeks she should be moving around and good to go.

In the meantime, Lisa, hunker down with some hot chocolate and a good anime ;) and let people pamper you!! Your being here and healthy is the best Christmas present ever for your family :)
