Uncut?

Post by litl_x »

I was wondering if anyone knew this??? Are "uncut" episodes that we buy in the US really the same as the originals, or do they still cut scenes, like naruto uncut box sets for instance?

Just wondering

I'm pretty sure most are changed.

I would watch both the fan subs and buy the US release!

I tend to watch the subs first to decide if I want the US release!

It does take around 2 years for them to release them anyways. So I really can't wait that long. :vict

Yeah...Depends...Like KITE for instance...Had several releases and even the "UNCUT" version had several scenes cut from it "too graphic" for american audiences...

It varies. Sometimes, they are uncut and sometimes, they are just "lightly" cut. Also, nowadays, it's quite common for there to be two versions of a show: one for the TV broadcast and one for the DVD release (with more nudity and such). It might be an uncut release, but of the TV broadcast version, not the DVD version. Plus, there are cases where the masters from the Japanese studio have been altered (such as Kare Kano).

This site has a decent sized list of cuts made to DVD releases (though, it's a bit out of date).
