What's YOUR favorite and weirdest snack?

Post by Elfstalker »

Here I am studying for another round of block exams, and my mouth is craving a snack. So I prowl in the pantry and the fridge, and lo, a shiny NEW container of masago, i.e. fish roe used to make sushi. Next to said glorious container is my almost new seaweed salad also used to go with sushi.

So my newest favorite snack? Fish eggs and seaweed salad, with some vanilla wafer snacks and green tea to go with it.

You think that's weird? Before I started grad school, my favorite snack was baloney right out of the package WITH ice cream. I have this thing where if I eat something salty, I need to balance it with sweets, and vice versa.

So, what are your oddball snacks? 8O

I love green tea flavored pocky (don't know if you consider that strange though, lol)
I also love dipping french fries into ice cream. ^_^

yes, french fries with ice cream/milk shakes/frostys.
that makes my tongue happy too.

I mostly snack on chocolate or granola bars or something like that.
Nothing too strange ever happens in my kitchen because it's usually pretty empty.

Mix: 1 can drained tuna + 1 can mushed garbanzo beans + 1 mushed avocado (peeled)

Eat with a fork.

This tasty meal was discovered while living in New Zealand and running low on food...

Another favorite of mine is elbow maccaroni mixed with shredded cheddar cheese and ranch dressing.

LOL Sugar I love those too!

I still get weird looks from some of my friends when we go to Steak -n- Shake and I dip my little french fries into their oh-so-yummy shakes. :D

Do you order your green-tea pocky off the internet? The place that used to carry them near me shut down, so I have to buy them online now. :(

strangest things i eat are:

Paprika Pringles - they aren't in america, or at least ohio, and i LOOOOVE these things.

and

in college I use to make a Golden Grahams sundae... of soft serve vanilla, Golden Grahams cereal on top, and I covered it all in choco syrup. The fellow students thought i was nuts, but it was soooooo good.

Oh, you too? When I was a little tyke, I really enjoyed pickle juice.

Weirdest snack = Jelly flops. I love these little suckers. Jelly Flops are rejects from the Jelly Belly factory. They're basically jellybeans that are glued into all sorts of funky shapes and sizes. Some are quite phallic. Some could easily qualify as modern art. When I'm in the mood for something sweet, I hit the bags.

I need to make a run to the Jelly Flop store....sniff!

Favorite snack = Popcorn freshly popped in a kettle cooker(1970s). I bought one of these on E-bay several years ago. A little oil. A cup of popcorn and voila...the best popcorn I've ever had.

Also, anything I can find at the Japanese supermarket. "Pretty Cure" candies, Sergeant Keroro chocolate cookie balls, Royal Milk Tea Pocky(IMO, the best pocky ever), Japanese cakes and pastries, Japanese flan, chocolate covered muscat grape gummies...pretty much, anything on sale or that comes with a prize.

BTW...if y'all are looking for Pocky or any other Japanese candies, just ask and I'll send some.

When we lived in NJ there was an asian supermarket we visited every
Saturday when possible. They had fresh asian pasteries :drool and MANY
different types of pocky to choose from as well as snacks/candies.

I haven't had any green tea pocky for over six months now. /sob I've
found that Walmart carries chocolate and strawberry so its not completely
out of my reach. Where do you by your supply SME?

Did somebody mention FLAN!!!! :drool

I like the defective Malt Balls. You know, the chewy ones that hide out every now and then in the regular crunchy cans/boxes. :P

(oh, and french fries in soft ice cream is killer good! /no1 potato chips with ridges are good with soft ice cream too)

I've been having a craving for Doublestuff Oreos and Pepsi.

Salty foods and ice cream are always good :)

I also had a thing with eating ramen and those Andes mints. Not mixed together! One bite of ramen then one bite of mint, then repeat, lol. But somehow I got really sick doing that one time so I can't eat them like that anymore. :P
