In the distant future, people build their homes and raise domestic animals in subterranean caverns. As a result, they live in fear of the occasional earthquake and cave-in, and have been for hundreds of years. Jeeha is one such village. One day, a boy named Simon happens to find a small, shiny drill whilst digging to expand the village. At the same time, Kamina, a guy who believes that there is another land above the village, persuades a gangster to break through the ceiling in order to leave the cavern. Suddenly, an earthquake occurs and the ceiling collapses, followed by a big robot breaking through the ceiling. Kamina is now sure that there is a world above them. Recklessly, he begins to fight against the robot. At that moment, another person appears from the land above. It is a girl by the name of Yoko. With a rifle in hand, she had been tracking the robot. However, all she could do was distract it. Then, Simon shows what he had found to Kamina and Yoko. It's a mysterious robot whose head is also its body.

With a debt of 1.5 million, 16-year old Hayate Ayasaki's parents sell him to the yakuza to pay it off. Not wanting to be cut up and sold on the black market, Hayate escapes from the yakuza thugs, and finds a very rich girl by the name of Nagi wandering in a park at night. Deciding to kidnap the girl for ransom money, Hayate's kidnapping speech was wrongly taken as a confession of love to Nagi. She finds out about the debt, and, feeling sorry for Hayate, pays it off, as long as Hayate will be her butler until he pays off the 1.5 million (which will take about 40 years).
Rie Kugimiya (Shana in Shakugan no Shana, Louise in Zero no Tsukaima) is playing yet another tsundere character.

Nagasumi visits his grandmother near the sea during the summer. While visiting, he goes for a swim, and drowns right after entering the water. Fortunately for him he is saved by a young mermaid. Later as he tells the story to his family, a young girl named San appears at his home and begs Nagasumi to marry her. She’s followed by two large thugs and they take both him and his parents to San's home under the sea. If that wasn’t strange enough, it turns out San's parents are mob bosses. Nagasumi is left with the choice of either death or marrying San. He chooses to marry a mermaid. This would likely be that, except San's father and some members of the mob are not exactly thrilled to have Nagasumi courting San and are determined to bring an end to their relationship--or him. And there is also the matter of keeping it a secret that San is a mermaid.
Cool artwork on the homepage. I wouldn't have thought this was a comedy from looking at that image.

The first impression I got from the homepage was that the artwork reminded me of the adult anime called "Moonlight Lady". It turns out Touka Gettan is based off a spinoff game that the "Moonlight Lady" anime was based off of. Can't say I got much into the "Moonlight Lady" anime, but the Carnelian character designs (especially the character's eyes) looked great. Asako Nishida must be used to adapting Carnelian artwork to anime by now since she also worked on the Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito anime.

Ellis, a young girl suspected of murdering a prominent physicist Heinrich Schneider, is on the run from an underground society called "Hunters" when she is tracked down by the bounty hunter Nadi in a small Mexican town. However, instead of turning her in, Nadi impulsively decides to help her and the two girls embark on a journey to Ellis' hometown, where they plan on finding clues about her past. From there, they travel south to search for the mysterious Gemstone of the Inca Rose, the "Eternal City" of Wiñay Marka, and Ellis' own obscure destiny.
I was reading some reaction to this anime and a number of them were saying that they've grown tired of the same themes in Bee Train's production anime (Noir, Madlax, Avenger). I suppose it all depends on if you like those themes or not.

Since the war 10 years ago between Wellber and Sangatrus ended, Wellber has maintained its peace. The simmering tensions between the two countries mean that a second war could start at any moment despite efforts to avert it. The King of Wellber, Hidel, tries to resolve the issue by marrying his daughter, Princess Litta, to Prince Gernia of Sangatrus. Litta does not approve and runs away, injuring Gernia in the process. This angers King Lumbanog of Sangatrus, who announces that he will initiate war unless Litta is captured and publicly executed within the next 14 days. As a result, Litta flees to the neutral country of Greedum. Tina, a thief who snuck into the castle the same night Princess Litta attacked Prince Gernia, witnessed the whole thing. Tina is searching for the man who killed her parents and, strangely enough, learns that he was living in Greedum. She comes to be Litta’s guard while they both head to Greedum.

Once every 100 years, a Water Fairy implants an egg into a person who then becomes the Guardian of Fairies. This time, the responsibility falls on Chagumu, the second prince of the New Yogo Kingdom. Chagumu’s life isn’t easy. The king finds Chagumu an inconvenience and attempts to have him killed. As a result, the queen asks a female guard, Valsa, to protect Chagumu. In addition to this, beings from another world, known as Nayugu, constantly attack him in order to eat the egg carried in Chagumu's body.
Based off a children's fantasy novel. A couple people commented on the Ghibli feel of the animated preview.

Koizumi Risa, current height 170 cm. Her surname is translated to "small river". A girl taller than most other girls her age. Otani Atsushi, current height 156 cm. His surname is translated to "big valley". A guy way below the average height of a highschool boy. They're both known all around school as the comedian duo for looking like nothing but funny while standing beside each other. Due to this fact, they've been on one another's bad side ever since they first met. One day, a new transfer student shows up and he happens to be very tall! Koizumi immediately gets interested in this boy and Otani suddenly proposes a silly idea to Koizumi. The idea is that they are to help each other out to get their respective love interests by all means! Koizumi undoubtedly agrees to this but as in all other shoujo mangas, things never turn out the way people want it to.
I think a live action version came out recently.

Anime News Service (Oct 6th, 2006): New info is out on the progression of the Lucky Star Anime project in Japan. Yoshimizu Kagami's 4-panel Seinen / Comedy / Moe genre manga (which serializes within the pages of Comptiq and other magazines) will be adapted to an anime TV series to begin Japanese broadcast in the spring of 2007. 3 collected manga volumes are currently on the market. Confirmed staff include Director Yutaka Yamamoto (Haruhi Suzumiya), Series Composition by Machida Douko, Chara Design by Horiguchi Yukiko (Haruhi Suzumiya), Animation by Kyoto Animation, Production by Lucky Star Paradise. Following their work on Kanon and Haruhi Suzumiya, fan favorite studio Kyoto Animation's attachment to this project confirms a long standing rumor that a tight partnership exists between them and Kadokawa Shoten. It's currently unknown if the Nintendo DS video game and drama CD voice cast will transition to the animation. The manga has ran since January 2004. Not originally meant to be serialized, Comptiq used Lucky Star as basically "page filler" at first but after gaining popularity it started it's own dedicated run.
Kyoto Animation huh? It must be easier animating this than Kanon (2006).

On a typical day during a summer vacation, a group of 15 children discovered a mysterious man living in a seashore cave, along with his high-tech gadgets. The man claimed to be a game developer creating a video game with 15 giant robots defending Earth from alien invaders and asked those children to test the game for him. The kids agreed happily at first, but soon they began to find the game horrifying, not only because of its realism but also for the first fatality among them happened right after their first victory. Worse yet, they had no idea how to stop or leave the "game."
Does GONZO often alter manga stories in their anime adaptions? People seem to be complaining about it.
