AMG Mini Goddess

Just curious: has anyone ever seen any production artwork of Gan-chan? I did a search a while ago, but it was fruitless. Cels from this series are quite rare.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe for the most part the Adventures of the Mini Goddesses was CG EXCEPT for a few cels (harmony, maybe?) I've seen only a few of these cels over the years, I'm pretty sure one of them was of Gan-chan fishing though.

I don't know about it being CG - I thought it was all cels. I've seen multiple cels of mini Urd, but never any Belldandy or Skuld. I don't THINK I've seen any Mini-goddess versions of Gan-chan.

I'd ask GoldKnight, she has some Mini-Goddess cels!

That's the only one I've seen, though, and I don't think it's "Mini Goddess", it's just OVA.

Nelia, thanks for the link. I see why I missed that (no mention of poor Gan-chan in the description

), but I can't believe I forgot about it because I've visited Goldknight's galleries a number of times. I think they're both from the original OVA, as Mini Goddess doesn't have a "real" opening.

I assumed Mini Goddess was cels, because I thought I remembered seeing actual cels, but now I'm not sure. I think Mini Goddess was made in 1998/1999...so it could have probably gone either way. I'm not sure what or when the first anime done via computer was. I wouldn't mind if it was CG, except that I've never seen any sketches.

When you search for "Mini Goddess" on Rubberslug, only one item turns up, and that is indeed a harmony (of Urd). I wonder what happened to all of the artwork...sure the episodes were short, but there were 48 of them. That's a lot of artwork to completely vanish.

I just saw this post. I would recommend asking Curt at Asylum as he is the AMG Guru in the cel world. He knows everything AMG so I'm sure he'll be able to help. Based on what I've seen I agree that it was probably CG with the occasional harmony cels like the one shown in Shadowcat's cel gallery.

I asked Curt about this, and he confirmed that Mini Goddess is all CG except for a few cels (I imagine he's referring to the harmony). It's too bad the sketches are probably destroyed or locked away...

It's really too bad that there aren't more cels from that anime out. I love this show, too. There were some of the harmony cels for sale years ago, but most of them I never saw again.

LOL! What a wonderful harmony cel! Urd never fails to amuse me.

I couldn't imagine how much the Mini-Goddess harmony cels would go for now, if they were to pop up. Mandarake has been getting a lot of nice cels during BWA, so maybe they'll show up there one day? I can already see the prices in the thousands!

lol...well I already know how much I like Higurashi.

I try to concentrate the most on the anime I'm most uncertain of or the anime that my opinion can most easily be raised or trashed. I'll finish it before July though. I'll have to.

redwolf: Thanks. I loved "When they Cry - Higurashi" alot. Ok it's nothing spectacular regarding the graphic or animation but the horror elements, the mystery, the atmosphere and of course the whole story are just great.
I'm excited waiting for the second season.

Keropi: Fact that there are near to zero better Ai-chan cels, I need some kind of compensatory. But scetches and genga sets from Higurashi, Mushishi or Death Note just skyrock in their prices, so no luck alike.
Well perhaps there will show up some from Haruhi Suzumiya, Gurren Lagann, or Darker than Black in the future... or perhaps a nice Ai-chan cel ;p

Gabe: Never ^^. You have bought so many AMG cels I like, too. At least I need one cute AMG cel
