Milkacow Silent Auction

Post by miz ducky »

What an interesting update they have up today!

Some lovely Inuyasha cels (including a nice Naraku), Naruto 3rd Movie sketches, and Naruto Shippuuden sketches are all up for silent auction until Feb 10.

I haven't seen any Shippuuden sketches before (just rilezu and repos), so I figured someone here might be interested.

Good Luck!!

If I'm reading the information page correctly, it sounds like during the entire auction time, there will be no information given out/made public about the auction's status. All other silent auctions I have participated in have at least kept a running update of what the current highest bid for an item was. I prefer that because it gives me an idea of whether to bid more or to let it go and focus on bidding more on another item. I would hate to bid and win an item for $1000 more than what the other highest bid was to be, yet I would hate to sell myself short on it by not bidding enough, also. Also, even tho it is said that bid increments are $1, that doesn't mean much if say, Person A bids $400, and I bid $800, I'm going to win the auction for $800 and not $401. I'm going to pay $800 instead of $401.

Sounds more like an offer period than an auction to me :( There is only one item I am really interested in, but I'm not sure about participating.

If I am reading any of the policies wrong on this auction, please, someone rapidly correct me.

Yea this is a true "silent auction" its similar to an offer period except you aren't informed if someone has offered higher. Basically in this you have to bid the max exact amount you are comfortable paying if you win and let the dice fall where they may.

Maiko, I think you understand it the same way that I do.
I think it says...
You will pay what ever your high bid is, regardless of what other people bid, if you win.

So I would also say, that if you see something you want, go with what you're comfortable paying.

Some very lovely things, especially that Kakashi movie sketch and Inuyasha/Kikyo! But, I am not going for any. Good luck to those who are going for the offer / silent auction! :-)

I removed the link from Ducky's post as it's been asked that nobody link to the site publicly. Anyone interested is welcome to send the link via PM. There have been several topics posted about this issue. If there are any further questions feel free to contact me via PM.

i hate silent auction, it's not really auction but 'silent offers'. milkcow is proberly using this silent auction to extimate value for shippuden, the starting price for inu yasha is high as always. im sure the price will eventually drop for the series as the show develops, ill wait :D

It's actually Midori's site. Midori=milkacow. So, chances are that you have the link already. I sent it to you, though, just in case.

Is anyone going for any of the Inuyasha cels?

I feel that the starting price is a bit too high for me, but while I like Inuyasha it isn't my focus, so I can't justify spending a lot on it.
