I am so sorry for your loss. It’s such a hard decision to make but you did a huge favor for Frisky.

I think you should go to the pound and find a friend that wouldn’t have a home if it weren’t for you. An empty house without the sounds of “meows” is way too lonesome.

Ok, maybe this was a bit fast but...

...me and Justin took another trip down to the Humane Society yesterday. We ended up coming home with this six-year-old brown tabby. Frisky was heavy, but at least he was solid. This poor girl, she's 15-16 pounds of PURE FAT. She is HUGE. Justin kept calling her a "kitty tank," so he ended up naming her P.K. (short for Panzer Kampfwagen...a German tank).

She seems to be adjusting well, although right now she's taken to camping out under my bed. She's got a short tail and best of all, Konata eyes ^_^ Light green and flat on top!

I'll try to take some pictures soon. She's fat but adorable ^_^;

Don't think I'm weird. I'm crying as I type this.

A few minutes ago I was laying on my bed with P.K. laying about a foot away, since I'd just been brushing her. Then, by my stomach, I felt warm, like Frisky was laying there with me. And I heard him say:

"Take care of her like you took care of me."

A minute later: "You did good, Mom."

I started tearing up. And then another minute later: "Thank you."

I think that's what I was waiting for. I was never sure if he'd forgive me for doing what I had to do. I'd wondered...

(Yeah, maybe I'm psycho. Or maybe it's just this cold I'm coming down with. I don't care. This helps...)

P.K. is gorgeous!! She sure is a big girl!! You did a wonderful thing by giving her a chance and loving home, and it is also the best medicine for your recovery!! You proved your devotion to your pets by the way you treated Frisky, best to you all!!!

Wow, P.K. is a big kitty! She's awesome & I think it's great that you decided to adopt sooner than planned. You were a great mom to Frisky, and you'll be a great mom to PK. It's always nice to see animals go to loving, caring people!

I'm very happy for you, Priss-chan, for being able to move on in life, treasuring the great memories you had with Frisky, and getting the new cat, P.K..

As soon as my bird passed away, I understood your feelings a little more.

As for me, my bird, Coco, will be my first and my last pet. I am content with the memories we had together.

I wish you happiness with your new cat, P.K., and hope you are able to make many good treasurable memories together.

Tiny update.

P.K. almost instantly got constipated when we brought her home. Also came down with an upper respiratory infection, which the people at the shelter warned might happen. Strangely, the laxative I got for her didn't produce anything but a very poopy butt that I had to wipe. A lot.

I stopped giving it to her about a week ago, and now she's finally starting to produce semi-regular, er...results. Hooray. Hopefully now she'll stop stinking and we won't have to give her a bath to clean off her butt anymore =P

AHAHAHA My cat phebus would TOTALLY do that if she could. I had to nurse her with a bottle when she was little so she would try to nurse on our hands/ears/arms/etc when we would sleep. Worst ever. waking up with little kitten hikis(spelling?) is strange. @_@ She still acts like a baby and is 1 1/2 years old now. LOL
