I would have been curious if it was another title (Big fan of time travel series/movies so was kind of hoping I was wrong and there was another title out there heh)

Anyways since I am up to bat lets see:

Due to a dog fight, this kids dog becomes one eyed. In the next episode and on we see the dog with a big "X" on his eye.

Also, the series is over 70 episodes long

Additional hints:

The series revolves around a particular sport, in this sport the "winner" is declared by a point system. There are 3 referees and a 2/3 majority is needed for the participants (either) to gain a point. The referees have flags in there hand, each flag has two different colors.
