Pretty much my whole collection will never be up for offers. If I ever did decide to get rid of some, they would probably be the ones no one else would want either. But if I have to choose just one cel, one cel in my whole collection, it would have to be this one:

Image

It's the most wonderful, romantic cel I own of my favorite character (Yang!) ever. And it's mine! MINE! MINE!!!!! And I LOVE it! Looking at it makes my heart beat fast and makes me feel like skipping and dancing circles around the room. It makes me feel like singing! Like breaking into song in a Disney musical.

Okay, so now I have to write a song. :) I call it, "My Soon-to-be Cel"

(prelude, starts slowly)
When I first saw you there, on that website
My heart, it skipped a beat
I thought I must be dreaming
How could something so sweet
Be there, within my grasp?
The blood rushed to my face
My stomach bottomed out
Because I know that it's a race...

(up tempo)
I want you
I need you
Oh please let me have you
I'm sending the email right now, don't you see?
I'm hoping
I'm praying
That no one else saw you
Oh order, fly quickly, bring my cel to me!

My cel! My cel! My soon-to-be cel!
If I can't get you I'll surely be sad
My cel! My cel! My soon-to-be cel!
I hope you're not stuck to the douga too bad

Now waiting
Now pacing
Refreshing my inbox
Did someone else get it? Was I just too late?
A message!
The subject:
"Thank you for your order"
I sit back in my chair and I'm feeling so great!

My cel! My cel! My soon-to-be cel!
The most wonderful cel that I ever could get!
My cel! My cel! My soon-to-be cel!
Can't wait to show all my friends on the net

My cel! My cel! My soon-to-be cel!
I'll update my website, yes that's what I'll do!
My cel! My cel! My soon-to-be cel!
Here's proof that some wishes really come true!

Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.

A new acquaintance of my daughter was bemused by the way that when she was talking to us on the phone, either she or one of us would suddenly burst into song. He had not met a family before who came with a sound track.

We really should think about putting together "Yahoo Japan: The Musical!"

Place your bid!
Place your bid!
You won't regret you did!
With 500 extra yen
You'll be high bid once again!
Put the car up for hock
And be sure to watch that clock,
If that wishlist gets away,
You'll be sure to rue the day... etc.

Thanks everyone: these are some megalicious cels and really interesting stories that go with them.

I guess it's a good thing when one has a very hard time answering this question. I have a lot of cels that I don't have any plans of letting go of. So I had to ask myself an extra question... Which cel did you not ever think of trading/selling, basically didn't even cross your mind ever to trade or sell?

That cel is this one

Why? Some of it had to do with how much I coveted the cel initially for the scene it's from, the aesthetics, the setup, I loved the cel for itself... But then I truly realized that after the lengths I went through to get this cel. It wasn't even the money but the risks and how complicated it was to involve several parties just to get this one cel. In the end it all worked out and when I look at that cel, I shake my head and say, "Now look at what you've done." The cel of course just laughs back at me, just like Saitou would. Heh.

Wow, this is a tough one to think about.
Hands down all of my Disney cels are pretty much never for offers/sale, etc.
If I had to choose one and ONLY one cel, it would have to be this one just because I never EVER even considered finding one of this rarity and magnitude, let alone being able to add it to my collection:

I can answer this one ONLY because we're talking about production artwork here. I don't think I could choose if I had to throw my original artist sketches into the mix.

But without a doubt, the one that would stay for framing on the wall even if I had sold all my other cels is the one in my icon:

Tough to pick just one. I never did a top ten because I couldn't keep my mind made up on the same ten for any period of time. :?

This is the cel I always go back to when I wonder why I am in this crazy hobby http://glorff.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... emID=51882

Only one? I have several that I would never consider an offer on.

I would say that this Rurouni Kenshin TV flashback cel of Kenshin, when he first receives the original Sakaba-tou, would be one that I definitely never would sell.

I love seeing everyone's beautiful cels. ^^ Pretty much anything I have left by now is keepers for me, but at the very top is this cel:

Mostly because I never believed in a million years that I would ever find this cel, let alone be able to afford it without putting myself into serious debt. ^^;

Cool idea for a thread. :D

Well no doubt I probably wouldn't sell off any pieces from my Nausicaa collection. But out of all of them I would have to choose this piece:

http://penguinton.rubberslug.com/galler ... mID=209438

That cels probably never leaving my hot little hands. It's an awesome cel from one of my favorite scenes from my favorite movie of one of my favorite characters in fiction. And as bonus points for it my family got it framed for me for my 21st Birthday present. So it's pretty significant to me. :^^:

A great question!

Since I have never sold or yet considered selling any of the cels I have, it really gave me pause. However, I believe that the one cel I would elevate above the others is a cel from the second ending from the first season of Ranma 1/2. However, I haven't yet got an image of it because of its enormous size. So I'll put forward a second choice:

The warm colors of sunset make this closeup image of Shampoo and Ranma special.

I'm probably still too new to this to answer. XD;; Not to mention I have no plans to ever sell any of my artwork, nor do I hope I ever have to. But of everything I do have, this cel I would NEVER give up:

http://sui.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_i ... mID=278443

My very first (and currently only) Sailor Saturn cel. Gorgeous, stunning expression, stunning original matching background, and from a shocking scene shortly before her death in the series. My scan sucks, but it is just breathtaking in person. It was worth every single cent, and I will always cherish it.

I'd also never let go of my Mistress 9 henshin cel, and an en-route addition to my collection, Hotaru about to swallow Chibiusa's pure heart crystal at the beginning of the same henshin sequence. Those two are my very first specific wishlist items realized.

It's a tough call. I just can't narrow it down to 1 piece. I guess I'm very attached to my entire collection nowadays like several others here.

Although, I am pretty flexible about some of the CG stuff in my collection because I know some series are not as easy to collect. :)

The rest... well....You'd have to bribe me big time... lol
