What was the subject of the conversation?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I think there might be a few exception.

Next anime (hopefully pretty easy):
To avenge his mother's death, the lamb must become the wolf.
Oh, I swore I wouldn’t respond to this thread unless I would not hang it up…jcaliff wrote:That's right!irmgaard wrote:Bell of Chirin!
Guess I’m off to a bad start, huh?

But anyhow, Bell of Chirin!
That was the film that reeeealy brought home to me how veeeeeery different the value system is in a Confucian society.
In an American or European movie, he would have been praised and lauded for his efforts; for saving his flock.
But in Bell of Chirin…
How horrible his punishment for daring to become something unique, that which he was not predestined to be!!!!!
Powerful, powerful, film! I’m just glad I didn’t see it when I was a small child (it’s target audience). Would’ve scarred me for life!

Ah, Syan, I’m sorry to be so late! You are absolutely correct!syan wrote:I meant to post earlier... Spring and Chaos?

Yes, it was Spring and Chaos - that dreamlike, semi-surreal biopic about the poet, Kenji Miyazawa!
And speaking of Shôwa Era Anime, the new anime season's Aoi Bungaku has gotten off to a great start with its harshly beautiful rendition of famous author, Osamu Dazai’s, quasi-autobiographical novel, No Longer Human, the seminal depiction of the devastating, life-long, psychological consequences of male child sexual abuse.
And the first chapter featured a “cameoâ€
