I really liked the manga. I'm sure they won't be able to make the story as plot deep as the manga, but it should still be good fun.

Good point! I forgot about Blue Gender since I didn't watch very much of it.
The manga had sort of a horror, thriller, action, intrigue, mystery thing to it. What mainly drew me in was that they kept questions hanging as to what different things meant. Why did this happen? What does this mean? What is he/she planning? The action scenes were good too. It had a creepy atmosphere to it.
But as with just about everything that gets crunched down to fit into the size of a movie, I'm sure some of those plot elements are going to be left out. But the artwork looks good I must say.
But I don't know why they call it sci-fi. It's much more fantasy than sci-fi.
