Previous sites, including ones I hosted, just used sub-domains of someone's existing domain, as it always seemed to be problematic to deal with domain name and hosting accounts & the comings and goings of Beta members. If you own a hosting account, Joost, it would probably be best just to use that rather than register something new that will likely just end up like the name owned by welcomeconsumer (inaccessible to current Beta members), eventually.
If you insist on registering a name, register a name with a year in it. (Like anime-beta-awards2011.com -- this way you aren't tying up a name if someone else wants to do something similar in the future).
