Is this seller's cel legit? Been wondering about this for a few years now. For some reason, looking through his cels, lots of them seem to have this similar look to them, at least color wise, even cels from different series. Not all his cels look fake, just the seemingly more attractive ones.
I also noticed that there doesn't seem to be many bidders biding on his cels, even though his got a high number of feedbacks.
Anyone any thoughts?
Anyone purchased from houkuki before?

Re: Anyone purchased from houkuki before?
The only record I kept of him was when I ran across a Sentimental Journey Opening cels that he had up for auction.
It looked like an unmatching copy background was added to one of the cels. The colors in the picture look overly brightened and the colors looked a little off. The art itself looked normal though. It looks like it came with a matching sketch for one of the cels.
That's all I have on the matter.
EDIT:
Ah, no that's not right.
I also seen Ah My Goddess and Voltron sketches from him. That was 5 to 5.5 years ago.

I believe I bought a cel or two from that seller many years ago, but I'm not 100% sure of that. The seller's name is familar, though -- I'm pretty sure I've watched some of his/her auctions in the past.

Yeah, quite a bit of his cels seem to have overly brightened color, which doesn't seem normal to me, and all of them seem to come with a background which usually doesn't state if matching or not...was tempted to bid on a few of his auctions, but wanted to clear my suspicions first, since I'm allergic to bootleg. Probably steer clear from this seller for now.
Re: Anyone purchased from houkuki before?
As far as I know, Houkuki is legit.
Over the past six years, I have won different auctions from them using mostly Rinkya. The cels and sketches I won were from the following shows: God Mars, Virus Buster Serge, Ga-Keen, Machine Robo, Lupin III, Sailor Moon, Dragonar, Jushin Liger, Guy, Gundam, Kotetsu Jeeg, Voltron (Dairugger), Daltanious, Getter Robo, Last Unicorn (listed in the YJ auction as unknown!?!), Metal Jack, City Hunter, and Dangaioh.
Some cels came with non-matching color copy backgrounds; others with non-matching hand painted backgrounds; some were stuck to their sketches; and others were key setups. Cels from older shows had line fade. Drawings from older shows had yellowing and tape burn. Houkuki's cels appear similar in condition, coloring, and execution to other cels from these series which I have obtained from other dealers and collectors.
Despite the bright colors, many of their photos were actually slightly darker than the cels.
But, shows like: Dragonar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ihan--Rg4Y), Ga-Keen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCr5geYIjOU), God Mars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvdkh9CJLnY), Gundam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdZxHfUNmvY), and Machine Robo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl4IqLfzHwg) are bright.

Thanks GuyverIII! Your one reply made me want to try this seller out. I'd definitely like to see if the cels I have would match what he sales in the near future.
