Paris is sooooo far away! I would love to see an anime exhibition getting the love it deserves... I haven't been obviously as I haven't left the states since 1999, but does Beta or RS get any mention for further resources? There are some absolutely amazing pieces view-able from private collections all over the world here, and would be a great place to visit online after seeing such lovely pieces in person ^_^
Just a thought! ^_^

Paris exhibition was a success with 3200 visitors (including 1000 kids) and setted the 2014-2015 cultural season visitors record.
Exhibition entrance was totally free. According to these results, the city office asked for an extra week of exhibition.
Exhibition welcomed 50 classes of schoolars, 5 filming sessions including a documentary, 2 conferences and dozens of journalists or photographers writing theirs press papers...

Congratulations, iceman! I think events like these help spread the news that animation art IS art, not just shiny souvenirs for fans. And it also spreads the news about the thought that goes into the entire movies/series. Keep us informed about the upcoming event.

Re: THE ART OF ANIME : THOUSANDS OF VISITORS :)
Thank you Bill, note that what surprised me the most was the amount (large amount) of young audience. People that were not supposed to be the prime spectators and refering to extremely detailled scene of TV anime classics that they decided to watch for their own culture on the internet. We slowly can speak about anime heritage... or anime folklore ?

This is the coolest thing ever!! I wish we could go!
The Frist museum in Nashville had an animation art display last year, which included American and Japanese anime. I joked to my husband at the time that we should get some people from Beta to contribute to a display. If only!

Thank you so much for this warm note.lunacels wrote:This is the coolest thing ever!! I wish we could go!

I tried once to unite the french collectors for such a project and then it turned to an ego festival about what art was better than... or more precious than... blah blah blah...
What happened is what you saw up there, I was so bored that I then decided to do it by myself, all alone. Took longer to raise the complete collection but was wayyyyyyyyyyy simple to arrange exhibitions, set logistics, insurance, partnerships. If I have a strong advice : definitively do it with your husband!
By any luck, does Nashville curator have an e-mail adress? Just drop them a line
