100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
I guess this is a good time to start a new gallery thread, seeing as today I added my 100th piece.
I've been searching for just about anything decent from Gunsmith Cats, and finally, after two years, got my hands on this spirited image of Rally Vincent springing out of bed to combat a group of burglars.

Congrats Kino on your 100th piece! It only goes downhill from here storage wise. ^_^;;
My favorite of the update is the large pan layout from Kino's Journey... It's very rough and detailed at the same time and I love how you get a whole sense of the scene from the layout. A very nice addition to your Kino's Journey collection!
Ganbatte ne! On you cel journey!

Dang, I missed this update thread! Congratulation on a big landmark, and for adding the sketches from your rilezu additions. That layout is very effective and in some ways is more epic than the rilezu cel, giving more of Kino's situation. Your collection is an important source of info on this fine series, which is beginning to attract academic attention. (I keep telling my students that someday there will be manga/anime departments just as there are American literature departments.)
Congrats. And don't worry: your living space will find room for the next 100 ... and ... and ...

@Matt: Thank you for the congratulations! I've been trying to move away from portrait shots, and the Rally sketch has a kinetic scene quality that nicely captures her spirited nature. I had wanted something special for my 100th piece, but I never imagined it would be a douga from Gunsmith Cats!
@Jadeduo and @Sensei: Thank you both for the congratulations. I'm so glad you guys appreciated the Kino layout, despite it's rough condition. A rather large tear runs down the middle, and it's crumpled and creased in several places. The scope of the piece is sprawling, and her slightly worried expression is quite an interesting contrast to her poised determination in the douga. The original background is also quite beautiful. Sensei, I'm so flattered that you think my collection is important. It was always important to me, but now I see that it could also mean something to fellow fans and collectors. Thank you!

I've been away too long. Great update! I'm a little partial to the GSC, and they are so hard to find, but all the added items are great.
Re: 100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
Thanks Frozentime! I'm still in disbelief over acquiring the GSC sketch. So rare.

Re: 100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
A small, but significant update; in a few weeks, I will be adding a handful of very special items. So stay tuned!
At last, my Inuyasha collection is out of the doghouse and into the main part of the gallery, and by doghouse I mean "miscellaneous section." Alongside Akira and the Ghibli library, Inuyasha was part of my introduction to anime, and for that it will always hold a special place in my heart as my first "favorite" series. I know I can't compete with all the other amazing inu collections out there, so my goal for this section is to procure a handful of unique, scene-specific moments.
That said, I love the colors in this layout of Hakudoushi and Kanna. Images of Hakudoushi are rare, and since he is one of my favorite characters, I had to have it.

Another important addition was this wishlist Unit-02 cel. Special thanks to Princess Nadia for letting it go.

Re: 100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
Added three new pieces over the last few weeks...
Of the three, this pan cel from Princess Nine is definitely the highlight. Plus it marks the creation of my first ever GIF file. Was patting myself on the back all weekend for that one.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=397014
Another equally beautiful Princess Nine, with original matching background.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=397168
Plus this Trigun, also with original matching background. '

Re: 100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
After a few months with no updates, I managed to catch up on scanning over the holidays. Now I'm all caught up, and I'm super excited to share this update.
First up is this gorgeous sketch from Angel's Egg. Since art from this film is getting super hard to find, I was super fortunate to get this piece.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=403263
This cel of Ai Haibara from Detective Conan. This shot appears in the third film of the series, and marks the character's very first cinematic appearance. Also worth noting is that this sequence of her was supervised by the story's mangaka, Aoyoma san.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=403264
This scary closeup of Monev the Gale from Trigun was a total surprise gift. Thanks dad!
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=403269
Minami, from Neo Ranga. I really like the character placement in this cel. It's not a close-up, but she's not too far back either. Plus the background is original.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=403396
This cel of D from Bloodlust. His prettiness fills up the entire cel.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=403265
And lastly, I managed to acquire an original Yoshiaki Sadamoto autograph.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=403319
Well, that about does it for 2016. Thanks for looking!

Re: 100 Pieces and counting! 2016 Gallery Update!
Whew! Been a while since I posted an update. Been trimming down my gallery. Not selling or planning to sell, just tightening it up to showcase my best pieces. The rest have been hidden from view.
New stuff:
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=405806
Pristine genga set of Conan from the first season. Great expression.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=407569
Medium wishlist cel of Haibara as she flees the organization after taking the ATPX drug. Ideal shot of an iconic scene from the series.
http://celluloidcentral.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=407423
Amazing cel of Leila from VHD: Bloodlust. The most beautiful cel I own IMO.
Thanks for looking!
