Arnold as Governor
Well, he won. I must say that I'm happy they decided to recall Davis. What are your thoughts on Arnold becoming the new governor? Good, bad, indifferent?
I'm kinda hesistant to say anything about his capabilities right now until I see what he does first, but having no political experience whatsoever should make it interesting.

Ordinarily I'd say let the guy have a chance at it...hell, look at ronald regan and jesse ventura- actors who did a decent job while in political office. But...the one debate I saw with Arnold had him sounding like such a republican robot, completely programmed to stick to his material...makes me wonder who will really be running the state.

I'm hoping he'll be good in office... he does seem to have a genuine concern for children, so I'm hoping that will directly affect funds for education (I'm a teacher and got a lay-off notice last year under Davis).
I do agree that many of his politics will not be his *entirely* but that's kind of the same for a lot of politicians... at least we know that he'll have the best advisors money can buy!

I still find it odd to have the 'Terminator' as our Governor, but I think everyone deserves a chance. Heck, I'm curious as to how things will turn out.

Stated perfectly. But, since I live in TX it doesn't really matter much to me either. I just feel sorry for the people in California.Tabbykitty wrote:sounding like such a republican robot, completely programmed to stick to his material...makes me wonder who will really be running the state.

(Very anti-republican at this time)

OMG, I heard they tripled the cost of renewing auto registration there. You poor (literally) folks.
Hell, I bought a brand new Grand Am when I was there (umm ... 1997 or 1998, can't remember which) and it cost around 300.00 at that time.

lmao, sorry ... but this was the 666th post in the Anything thread. Just found it humorous that Arnie is the subject of such a notorious number.

I heard about the auto reg thing too. I guess that's one way to get the state out of debt, by putting all the people in debt instead!
