Im very certain the email response is all Aaron Murphy pretending to be his mother, because no one would be stupid or even a slightest mistake to type other people names on email. Its true you can pretend to be someone, but there are some certain times that you forgot and accidentally type your own name on it. Her reason of typing Aaron names doesnt ring any bell.
If you really intend to sent payment, deduct the money he ripped from your brother. Dont be afraid, its a dog eat dog world
