i voted "it doesn't matter if the price is right"... although, that's only partially true.

i recently sold some cels out of desperation to someone who didn't really want them... and they ended up on ebay. *sniffle*. my cels are like my children... LOL meaning i take good care of them and bought them out of love for the anime. so it hurts when they go to a person who isn't that enthusiastic.

The truth is, I don’t know a lot of people well enough to gauge how much they will appreciate a cel I am selling. Although, I tend to sell first or offer it to sell or trade to someone I know slightly better before posting an ad. I’ve only sold once and once I got what I needed, I closed it. To be honest, I think I’m not so keen on breaking up my collection no matter how obscure some of it is. Sure I want to sell to someone who would appreciate it more, but there’s really no guarantee to that and the size of someone’s collection isn’t a good indication of how much they’d appreciate a particular cel I am selling. And I wouldn’t want to not sell to someone just because they’re collection is small. Unless I know the person personally and how they collect, what they like, it pretty much goes to the person who contacted me first and consummated the transaction. I wish there was a way to tell who will take good care of my cels, but when I sell something I pretty much have decided to part with it for good and just hope whoever it goes to like it as much as I did. After all if they didn’t, then I think they’ve just wasted money.

I voted for 'No, doesn't matter if the price is right' for me too...cause it doesn't. Just as long as they're willing to give me money so that I can buy more cels, then that's fine to me!

I've only ever sold two cels, one on ebay because I felt I didn't love it enough *sorry, sniff* and one to a collector who sent me an email.

I needed money for a wishlist cel at the time I received the enquiry and was in two minds about selling because it is a great cel setup. Looking at the buyers gallery made the decision for me - they had a wonderful series specific collection and it just felt "right" to pass my cel on. It feels like it's found it's home even thoough I loved it for years.

And, best yet, I can visit it  win-win!

Oh, and I got that wishlist with the money.

So I guess my anwser to this thread is, if I'm planing to sell I'll go where the money is but if I'm not planing a sale, I can be talked round if it feels good to me :D

But if you want my Nadia cels you may have to offer me blood

Wahhhhh, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding...

...doing the happy dance...

Ah, that's all better now :)

As much as I want to vote diehard fans, the almighty dollar got my vote.

But as with everything, it's not that cut and dry. I've been collecting long enough to know a lot of my competition on a first name basis, not just usernames. In fact, I was bidding on something this weekend and got an email from one of those people wishing me the best of luck. We weren't competing because she had a sequence mate. WHEW! :sweatdrop So because of this, if I'm selling something, I tend to ask these people first. I would rather sell to someone I know who will take care of the art. But if they don't want it, it goes on ebay. I follow those rules once it's posted. To the highest bidder goes the spoils.

I admit, I'm in the boat with Toni and Laura.

"Can't say cause no one wants my stuff..."

the end of that sentence being : "after all, they GAVE them to me."

XD
All my freebies are loved pretty much by me alone.
Speaking of which, back to scanning this new batch from Erin.

I vote with WC here...

that and the fact that othe others who collect this series actually have better cels than I do (like a certain cel collector who shall be nameless Baakay who said she'd keep me in mind when she gets tired of her collection of wonderful BGC cels or has to hock them for her BJD colletion...)

I have never sold a cel as of yet, and i hope not to as well. But really, it seems all the hardcore collectors um, out-hardcore me so the only path for me is up!

Well...I try and let anyone I know would be interested in a particular item it's going up for sale first, but in the end price gets priority. I like knowing that items are going to collectors who will appreciate them, but it's not a real priority to know what that collector collects from....so yeah voted right price :sweatdrop

I'm not sure if I would like to try and let anyone he or she know would be interested in a particular item it is going up for sale first but in the end price gets priority. What's it like?

1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
