It's desperately hard to lose a parent, even when you're prepared for it intellectually.

Thanks so much for your warm thoughts and prayers, everybody! 
The funeral was on Tuesday, and it was a small, elegant time with just the family. My cousin put pictures in the casket that we had taken at Christmas, so he had all the family with him, which I thought was wonderful! I had written a note and put it in with him.
He actually looked OK, with only his mouth being a bit distorted, but at least he wasnn't made up with too much make-up or anything. So, Tuesday was a really, really bad day, but we got through it and I do feel better now. I had trouble sleeping for a few nights, both before and after, but last night I actually slept without muscle relaxers or a 1/2 a sleeping pill or anything. I figure that's an improvement.
My mother's doing much better than I thought she would, and I think we're going to be OK. I thought she'd have a total meltdown when my father went, but she's holding together nicely, I think.
On the up side, I've been looking at cels and stuff again, partly to distract myself!!
So I guess there'll be a gallery update in the future. Hehehe!
Thanks again, everyone! I'm sure I'll have more bad days, but right now I think I'm doing pretty OK. I'm very, very grateful for all your wonderful messages, and I promise to try and get back to the board more often! LOL!
