yay! another mac user...!

for most mac users, there is no need to defrag as the operating system does a pretty good job of keeping files together as much as possible...however, i'm told if you're nearing your hard disk's capacity and/or you are dealing with extremely large files (> 500mb), it wouldn't hurt to do a defrag maybe once or twice a year, but probably not more than that. you would have to get a 3rd party utility to do it like Drive Genius 2.

so, jenn, what kind of mac did you get?

I got the Air....*le sigh*

I love it so very much. The only downfall is the smaller drive - which was why I was asking the question. I know that with a drive of that size on a pc, you would have to defrag like crazy. I thought that was, perhaps, one of the many bonuses I would get with Mac, but I just was not positive. And I want to take care of my baby!!

the Air...sweet! did you get the solid state HD? i wouldn't worry about the defrag, just make sure to keep 10-15% of the HD free for OSX as it likes to cache things.

All xbox 360s, regardless of when they were purchased, WILL play original xbox games. The catch is that a hard drive required to download the emulation software onto the xbox for the games to work. If you bought an Arcade version and bought a hard drive for it separately, it should work fine.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
