Yeah, that Angel Beats picture makes me more interested in the show now.
Gee...I didn't even know that Hakuouki was a Shinsengumi Otome game. I played one of those before (Hirameki's Yo-Jin-Bo game) and it's a weird perspective of it all.
Too bad the original princess's personality was not in the character you were playing. I liked her a lot better. The subdued personality of the main girl in that game was very likely not assertive enough to interest Western audiences.

HOLY CRAP!! O_O
Nakamura did character designs for Yojo-han?!?!?
*O*
Now I *have* to see this anime just for the gorgeous
stylizations and designs! I love that man!
I have a huge artist crush for him, his adobe illustrator
skillz are so 1337!
*insert girly swoon here*
I know cel-senpai is particularly excited about
Senkou Night Raid, hes been following its development
for months! So glad its almost here.
Thanks for the list Keropi!!

Hakuoki Shinsengumi Kitan was the first game followed by Zuroisiku (spelling?) on PS2. It was also released on PSP and DS and soon will be released on PS3. The original character designer is Kazuki Yone (I kept mistaking her for a guy. LOL). The quality of artwork has gone down a little but that can't be helped since this is an anime adaptation. Don't get me wrong the character designs -still- look awesome. I have been watching the development of this after wishing in vain that Bakumatsu Renka Shinsengumi would be animated. There is always something good for a Shinsengumi fan. I have yet to see a Saitou Hajime that I did not like. Grrrrr....
I hope a new wave of Shinsengumi fans will come alive after this. So beautiful and exciting.

Huh. Glad you posted that. Makes a lot of the series look a lot more interesting.Keropi wrote:An upcoming anime season preview has been posted over at Random Curosity blog although it wasn't done by Omni this time:

As expected, this season doesn't really have the type of anime stories/artwork that I tend to favor.
Angel Beats
B Gata H Kei
Hakuouki
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou
Kaichou wa Maid-sama
Mayoi Neko Overrun
Senkou no Night Raid
Not sure how long I'll watch these:
Arakawa Under the Bridge
Kiss x Sis TV
Working
Heroman wasn't really my thing since it felt more like a better than average Saturday morning cartoon. The art quality is decent though since it was done by BONES. I didn't watch Giant Killing because I'm not into soccer. Rainbow seemed good from having skimmed the episodes and reading a blog, but I'm not sure if I'm ever going to watch it. It's pretty brutal. House of Five Leaves I might watch later if I can ever get past the character artwork.

Watching faithfully:
Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan
Sengoku Night Raid
House of Five Leaves
Starting and will probably continue to watch:
Angel Beats
Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitte Iru
House of Five Leaves is quirky but I like it (granted I've only seen the first episode
). I didn't like the art at first either, but it didn't take long for it to grow on me, of course it helps that the characters are a fun bunch

Hakuouki Shinsengumi!!! I really like the level of research they put into it and how much they've put into the anime itself. The last episode Ikedaya raid really surprised me just because they got it mostly right (sans the new characters) right down to who was injured where and what precisely happened. The artwork is pretty nice too... Ah... For an otamate based anime... It's pretty decent so far!
