Try it now. There was a small bug there, thanks for finding it. :) I can't wait to jettison this old series/section editing code... but for now it's patched.

I'm in that 1% of "gallery section". huh-huh-huh
Total users affected: 159.... however, maybe 140 of those have only 1 or 2 sections affected. I figured it's probably quicker for you all to rename instead of having an impromptu anime quiz of having me look at the series and try to guess what it was called.
That's awesome of you to go through cached pages to fix Gallery Names...that sounds annoying!
I was quite proud of myself. That was totally ninja. I found anyone who had more than 10 sections affected and figured I'd manually help them. No way I want anyone having to rename more than 10 or so.

I manually pulled up the cache entries from Bing and Google, found out which one was newer, and saved that one to my drive. I then (technical explanation incoming) parsed out the links and the series ids and compared them to the database to find out if any of them were newer than the copy in my cache. If they were older, I ignored them. If they were newer, I used the Google/Bing copy as the definite "name" of that section and squeezed out another 300 section names.

There were about 20 people who had more than 10 new sections with mystery names since last backup, I got that down to about 4 or 5 I think. I think a lot of the ones I couldn't find were due to the gallery being private (hence, not indexed by Google) or they were affected by the corrupted ordering bug -- fixed in new version btw -- and don't actually show up as series anyway.

Please let me know either here or on RS if it's still giving you trouble.[/quote]

You should be proud of yourself. You do a lot of work for us and I for one really appreciate it. If it weren't for you, my cels would be for my eyes only. :^^:

I was just joking around earlier too. (Sure hope no one takes me that seriously.) I wouldn't have minded fixing 10+ sections. It's the least I could do. It took no time at all to fix my 5 effected sections.

Thanks again! 8) I can't wait for the new version to be ready to roll out. It looks great in case I haven't told you lately. :)
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

Does that mean only 159 people updated their galleries in the last few months?

That doesn't sound right. :D

Nah, it just means that only 159 people added a new series that I couldn't hunt down. Digging through cache files helped a lot. Not sure on what the numbers are for frequent users of the site.

Is anyone having a problem with RS now? I just tried to go on the site. The RS main page flashes and then it directs me to a weird virus-y site that was immediately blocked.

Same thing happened to me about 5 minutes ago, CB. I went to the site and a dialog box popped up with something about a possible malware attack and to push OK to perform a scan of my computer. Well, I went through the task manager to close my browser. However, my browser restarted automatically and tried to restore my session, but it said the page could not be loaded and had this website listed: newprotectionenginere.co.cc.

:hurt: :? :shrug

Same here.

Since reading this, I've backed into my own gallery a couple of times without incident. However, when I visit the RS home page, I do get the suspicious message that others report. It looks as if that part of the site has, alas, been hacked. Probably it would be a good idea to avoid that part of RS until Jason has it under control.

Has someone sent him a message to let him know? I put one on his Facebook wall, but he's apparently not logged on.
