Well Like most when the series is only CG this is what I have collected.
#1 would be the rilezu reproductions. (Ai Yori Aoshi & the World of Narue)
#2 would be lithographs (Ai Yori Aoshi)
#3 story boards ( I have 2 from the World of Narue)
#4 Genga ( Ai Yori Aoshi)

My preferences are not the same anymore. Two years ago I stated my preferences as:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 2004:
1. Genga
2. Douga
3. Production backgrounds
4. Post production cels - I haven't seen too many that I've liked however. Most of the poses I've seen are rather generic scenes of characters staring out. ^_^; If I seen one I liked though I wouldn't mind buying one.
5. Settei (copies) - I have some interest in these, but not a lot.
6. Roughs
7. Storyboards - an original one would move it up to number 4.
8. Fan art - I have very little interest in them. But I won't rule ever buying one.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But now my preferences are:
1. Layouts - I like these because you can see the entire scene. But if the background only shows a character standing against a blank wall, there's no difference (but how often does that happen?.
2. Genga
3. Douga - In 2006, a lot of douga seem pretty boring to me compared to a lot of layouts, genga and roughs. It's interesting how my tastes have changed.
3. Roughs - I like an "average" douga as much as an "average" rough, but I think a "good" rough is often much better than a "good" douga. Dougas seem so very plain now.
5. Production backgrounds - I don't mind this if I can get no sketches from it.
6. Post production cels - I'm warming up to them. I've loaded them into my cart and come close to clicking the "buy" button, but I've never quite gone through with it.
7. Storyboards (copies) - A little bit of interest, but not much.
8. Settei (copies) - Not much interest in these. I have less interest in them than two years ago.
9. Fan art - I have little interest in these. But I wouldn't rule out ever getting one. Those Sentimental Journey and Doukyuusei fancels looked pretty good. Those particular Senti/Douk fancels I would rate between the #6. "Post Production cels" and the #7. "Storyboard copies".

This *is* interesting!!
Among paper products:
1) I prefer layouts to anything else. They're not "finished," they're not perfect -- but to me they often have more emotion and life than the "real thing." Plus, they put the characters in the scene.
2) Sketches. Disclaimer: All these years later and I still can't keep the kinds of sketch straight.
) I gravitate toward the ones with color, directions, camera frames and so forth in them, again for the reason that they tend to be more lively and give me hints as to what went on during the production.
3) Settei. As long as they're not horribly expensive I don't mind that they're copies. It's really interesting to see some of the thought processes behind the development.
I can't imagine paying money for storyboards, because often the characters are nothing more than the barest of hints of the actual art from the show. However, that's why they offer all this stuff for sale these days -- all of us have different tastes!
And I can see how it would be fun to follow along with an episode.
And backgrounds? hmm.
never gave it much thought. I usually buy backgrounds for putting behind cels, and the most fabulous backgrounds are too "situated" in a particular moment for doing that with. Not that I wouldn't buy some particularly gorgeous ones if I weren't spending all my disposable income on cels and sketches.
As to repros, rilezu and fan art:
I have yet to see a repro I liked very much, the exception being a couple of Ichigo that I thought were reasonable.
Rilezu -- I own one, but as perfect as it is, it lacks life somehow. Plus, why do they pick the ugliest, most awkward shots of extreme close-ups to make Rilezu of? Seriously. I'd prefer to commission Uende to do her own interpretation. Case in point, Akabane (see below).
Fan cels -- WOOT! Never thought I'd actually pay money for having fan cels shipped over the big pond, but I've recently purchased two Kenshins that are completely godlike. (One is yet to be scanned). Why? First, I can frame them and not worry about line fading. Second, they are of shots that, were I ever to find the originals, I'd have to put a second mortgage on the house to buy them. Third.. they're GORGEOUS.
Other fan art -- I'm with Aernath on Uende's prints. 100%. Working to catch 'em all. I'm going to be shy the one she's sold out, but there isn't a single one of them that isn't fabulous, and you have to see, smell, and touch the real thing to fully appreciate how fantastic they are. I don't know that there's a rilezu out there that could come close to capturing the Akabane-ness of Akabane the way her rendition of him does.
And it's obvious that there is fan art I'm entirely willing to buy and/or display even if it's from a show I have cels from. I absolutely love looking at other people's interpretations of characters. My own suck so badly that why not get some good ones?

1) Good art that screams buy me...

1. Sketch - I find that stand alone sketches are generally much more colorful and virbrant and thus I love them. I can say that when somehow raises the price on a set because there is 50 or so mouth layers I dont really like that...
2. Genga - Genga.. Its a bit hard, sometimes it really applies to me sometimes its to rough for my taste. Really depends.
3. Douga - I like these.. BUT unless its amazing I tend to stay away from. Simply because douga are computer generated (hence the very clean lines) and usually lacks color.
4. Setti - The main issue is you want to find a "real" one if that makes any sense and since they are machine done they sometimes are produced in great numbers so chances are i wouldn't buy any setti unless it was cheap and of a character i really like *ahem Yoko ^^.
5. Fan art - Normally i would say no but if i saw an amazing fan art of a character I really like and it looks amazingly good who knows. I might just get it.

Luckily, there's few CGI shows which interest me. Therefore, production
materials for CGI shows are not in my collecting queue (at least, for now).
I like fan cels and fan art if it's a series I feel strongly about. Off the top of
my head, there are two series I'd want Rilezu from but it may never happen.
I prefer the results of commissioning a fan cel, especially if the artist is
easy to work with.

We have an almost non-existant collection of art from CG shows because 1) I don't really love anything cg I've seen except maybe the X TV series 2) I do like sketches a lot but, I find douga from cg shows very, very boring most of the time though the genga are often quite nice.
However when we are collecting sketches this is our order of preference:
1.Genga/roughs/layouts - They usually have the highest quality artwork even if they're rough and generally are the most interesting and colorful to look at. Hooray for the key animators!
2. Storyboards - if they're orginal I love them if they're not, I don't care it's interesting but eh...
4.Rilezu- I haven't bought any yet but, they're nice enough and there are a few series I'll likely get one or two from but, I've stayed away from them thus far because I don't like the thought of paying big prices for post production art.
5. Backgrounds - they're prety but eh. unless it's something really fantastic
6. Fanart - I can go both ways on fanart. There are a few artists worth comissioning but overall while I respect fan art I'm usually not in the market for it.
7. Settei - We have one set of settei in our collection though it's not from a CG anime because, I can't find any real art from the series (though hopefully that will change soon) but, on the whole I won't buy settei I don't like collecting copies. I'll admit that they can be really lovely and interesting. It's just not something I can get excited about.

1. Original layouts/rough original layouts
2a. Genga/douga/shuusei/original or copy layout/timing sheet/cut bag sets (the last two are harder to come by). My opinion on these can vary a bit...if there is very little movement, it's nice but not necessary. If it is a cut with decisive action, it becomes awesome.
2b. Genga/shuusei, roughs
3. Harmony watercolors (I've seen shots from some series I like that seem to be watercolors...I've also seen some for sale or in galleries from Snow Queen and One Piece. I'm not sure if most CG shows these days would do these moments via computer...?)
4. Douga
5. Backgrounds (Unfortunately, I don't see backgrounds from many CG series...Ai Yori Aoshi, Samurai Champloo, Naruto, Bleach, etc.)
6. Rilezu/reproduction/fan cels. I regret not bidding on one fan cel, and there is at least one rilezu that I'm not sure I'd have been able to pass up if I had been around to see it. Rozen Maiden, Fate/Stay Night and now Simoun have been tempting me, so I'm sure it is just a matter of time....
Little to no interest: Copies of sketches, storyboards, and settei. I'm not even sure I'd try for original storyboards and settei...they tend to go really high, and I think I'd rather have a moment of the character from the actual show instead.
Of course, there are exceptions to everything.
