Hope you get a replacement at the store, that way you can get instant gratification.

At least it isn't a virus, those hurt worse than failed HDs.

I hear you Yoshito, I'd hate to have a virus take over my computer- that would be extremely frustrating.
I'll be getting an exchange on my HD tomorrow- that was pretty quick. The guy in the shop said he'd give me a Seagate HD in place of the Maxtor because the high capacity Maxtors are apparently failing more than they should.
I just read up on the Barracudas and they seem to be rated highly. It's actually worth a little bit more than the Maxtor I bought too so I can't complain! Maybe I should have saved that quote for AFTER I've installed everything again and it works. There's still plenty of opportunities for complaint... heh
