Thank you! It was really an impromptu costume, inspired by my wife finding an old "Circleville [Ohio] Pumpkin Festival" t-shirt. This was one of our first real dates, and even now I address birthday and anniversary cards to her as "PQ" which stands for "Pumpkin Queen." I just took a make-up kit that had red and yellow face paint and combined it to make orange, then did a standard pumpkin face over my eyes, nose, and mouth. It was a little creepy, which is why I let my wife answer the door this year. Last year the kids were so taken aback when I opened the door that they couldn't even say "Trick or treat." So this time I just stood and grinned over her shoulder. That way the kids got their healthy breakfast bars before they ran away.

The howling wolf tape that we put on the boom box in the bushes helps the atmosphere a lot. Kids were visibly impressed, especially as we've had a lot of motion in the neighborhood, and so most of the other houses nearby were dark and unwelcoming.

Snakeskii, your Mushu looks very happy with his costume. Lots of pets look put-upon when they're dressed up, but in this case you can almost see him assume a regal look. If there's a lizard heaven (and I don't see why not) I can see him making an advance order for a red-hot halo and a pair of wings to match.

Ahhh ... only 364 days until next Halloween! (2008 is a leap year, ne?).

I thoroughly love these pictures!! All of 'em!!

I didn't do anything fabulous myself this year, although I did have a wonderful time wearing elf ear-tips at the Reference desk Tuesday morning. O it was such a blast watching people do a double-take as I answered their questions with as straight a face as I'm able to muster ;) Some day I'll have to get the progeny to take a picture of me with them on, as they are perfection :)

We did have some scaries at our house though!!

Elizabeth was a fabulously awesome vampire. And Jenny was the snarkiest, most sullen Tinkerbelle ever. On purpose ;) Apparently we were roleplaying the anti-Tink or something. My camera and I are still involved in a learning curve, so between that and the sub-freezing temps things came out a tad wobbly.

Course, we also had Halloween help in the doll department. After all, Bobo IS Ebil!! He even came and manned the desk with me.

Give me an example of 'em.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

The wings bugged him about 10% of the time he was in them. The other 90% he ran around climbing up on shoulders and jumping off of the couch. For the photo I fed him some of his favorite treats, so he had the "where are the rest of my worms?" look on his face. ;) Much better than "Get these stupid things off me!" :D

I have two little girl dragons that would make such good angels (even though one is a little devil)...too bad they will be all grown up by next year! :l

BTW, the pumpkin face REALLY creeped me out...I think I would have run away! X|
